Happy Sugar Life" unveils key visual! Kikuko Inoue plays the role of Satou's aunt, a new character!

A key visual from "Happy Sugar Life," scheduled to begin airing in July 2018, has been released! In addition, it was revealed that Kikuko Inoue will play Satou's aunt as an additional cast member.

Happy Sugar Life" is a very popular comic by Tomiyaki Kagisora, serialized in the monthly magazine "GANGAN JOKER" that has sold over 700,000 copies. It is a pure love story of the main character, high school student Matsusaka Satou and Kobe Shio, but it also shows a bizarre side of psycho horror, and the gap between the cute visual and the horror has caused a huge reaction.
The TV anime, scheduled to start airing in July, is directed by Keizo Kusakawa of "Fleet of Armada" and "Kazenatsu," directed by Nobuyoshi Nagayama of "My Girlfriend is Too Serious to be True," with series composition by Doko Maita of "DIVE! Ezo'la will be in charge of animation production.

Kikuko Inoue, who was announced as an additional cast member, won the 4th Seiyu Award for Best Supporting Actress and the 10th Seiyu Award for Best Actress Kazue Takahashi. Her recent roles include Karta Issue in "Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphens" and Cecile Cluemy in the film version of "Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion I, Kodo." Her roles have ranged from innocent to evil, young woman to mother to old woman. In "Happy Sugar Life," she plays the role of an aunt who seems to have had a great influence on Satou, and who is "unreachable by teachers and no one has ever seen her before.

I, as the creator, am excited and enjoying the challenge of how to incorporate this "jittery feeling" into the film. I am sure that the taste of the film will be different from any other animated films I have been involved in.
