BANANA FISH" to air in July, second PV & key visual, additional cast members including Yoshimasa Hosoya and Jun Fukuyama, and the OP theme have been released!

The second PV, second key visual, additional cast members, and the opening theme of "BANANA FISH," which was announced as part of manga artist Akio Yoshida's 40th anniversary project, have been released.

BANANA FISH" is one of the best works by Akio Yoshida, a manga artist who has created numerous hits such as "Umimachi diary", and will be adapted into an anime on Fuji TV's "Noitamina" in 2018 as part of its 40th anniversary project. The staff includes director Hiroko Utsumi ("Free!"), series composition by Koji Seko ("Inuyashiki"), character design by Akemi Hayashi ("Doukyusei"), and animation production by MAPPA (Yuri!!! on ICE). on ICE") will produce the animation.

The second PV, second key visual, and the cast of five main characters have been additionally announced in anticipation of the anime's broadcast start on July 5, 2018. In addition, it was announced that the artist in charge of the opening theme will be "Survive Said The Prophet" (a.k.a. "Sabapro"), and that the song will be called "found & lost".

I will be voicing Frederick Orser in "BANANA FISH". I have enjoyed working with the director Hiroko Utsumi, his thoughtful consideration to find the best choice, and the great respect the production team has for this work. I am very grateful for the opportunity to be involved as an author and the timing of the anime adaptation more than 20 years after the series ended. I will do my best to make sure that the character of the author will be delivered in an appealing way.

Shinji Kawada as Shunichi Ibe
I am very honored to join the cast of the legendary and very popular manga "BANANA FISH". We are recording in a very nice atmosphere in the studio with fun but quiet tension. I would like to see the story of Ash and Ei-chan, two pure people, from Ibe's point of view to the end.

My name is Jun Fukuyama, and I will be playing the role of Eusis in "BANANA FISH". I was exposed to this work before I became a voice actor, and it is my favorite work because it changed my concept of the so-called "shoujo manga" genre from the bottom of my heart. I never thought in my wildest dreams that I would be cast in the major role of "Eusis". I will play the role with all my heart and soul!

In many ways, "BANANA FISH" is a work that mixes old and new sensibilities. This time, inviting Survive Said The Prophet to join us in this worldview allowed us to compare the senses of that time with the present day that we are currently walking in. Writing this song also made us realize that no matter what the future holds, the key to it is emotion.
