Interview] Soft and gentle singing voice is appealing! halca releases debut single "Kimi no Tonari".

The anime "Otaku ni Koi wa Hanaku" (It's Hard to Love an Otaku) has been airing on Fuji Television's "Noitamina" channel since April. Newcomer halca sings the ending theme song "Kimi no Tonari"! Audition, for which CHiCO of CHiCO with HoneyWorks won the grand prix. From there, she has been working hard on her singing voice, and now she is ready to make her debut. Her charm lies in her soft and gentle voice. Kimi no Tonari" is a love song that both men and women can relate to, while enjoying Halca's comfortable vocals.

─ ─ Halca was the runner-up in the first "Utakatsu! Audition" and started your path to becoming a professional artist, didn't you?

halca Yes. I auditioned when I was in my first year of high school. For a while after that, I continued to improve my skills as an artist by taking voice training and performing in live shows.

───What made you apply for the "Utakatsu! Audition"?

halca I have loved singing since I was a child, and my mother told me about this audition. So I recorded a song by myself and applied. I wanted to make my debut as a professional singer if I could, and my mother supported me.

─ ─ The first "Utakatsu! Audition," CHiCO of CHiCO with HoneyWorks won the Grand Prix. Have you had any contact with her since then?

halca I got to know CHiCO during the audition. When it came to the final audition, the number of people was decreasing, and I had a chance to talk with her. After that, we took lessons together and have been good friends ever since.

─ I guess you two must have encouraged each other at times.

halca Yes. CHiCO always asked me, "Halca, are you okay? When my debut was decided, she was as happy as if it were her own, saying, "It's finally been decided! She is a kind and encouraging person, and I am glad to have made friends with her.

I heard that you participated in CHiCO with HoneyWorks' national tour "i LiVE you".

─ How was it to sing in a big live venue?

halca I was very nervous. I sang two songs at each venue as the opening act, and I was surprised to see how sweaty I was when I came back to the backstage (laugh). I was so nervous the first few times I sang that I didn't know what to say and couldn't see the faces of the audience, but on the last day of the tour, I think I was able to speak a little better during the MC. ─ Did CHiCO give you any advice during the tour?

halca Yes. I sang "Kimi no Sora" and "Tsubayaki Letter. Kimi no Sora" was included in the 10th anniversary compilation album of the mobile novel site "Noichigo," and "Tsubuyaki Letter" was the image song for the novel "I'll Tell You I Love You 32 Times," published by Noichigo Bunko.
