Popular Weekly Shonen Jump work "Blade of Demon's Destruction" to be adapted into TV anime! Produced by ufotable

It has been announced that the popular manga "Demon Slayer," currently serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump (published by Shueisha), will be adapted into a TV anime.

Demon Slayer" is a manga by Gotouge Koyoharu that has been serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump since 2016. The 11th volume of the comic was published today, and has sold more than 2.5 million copies worldwide (including digital editions).
Set in Taisho Japan, this sword-fighting adventure follows the journey of the main character, a boy named Tanjirou, whose family was killed by demons. Seeking a way to turn his sister Priestess Nezuko (Nezuko), the only survivor despite being turned into a ferocious demon, back to human form, he sets out with his demonized sister to take revenge on the demon that killed his family.

The TV anime adaptation of this work was announced in the 27th issue of "Weekly Shonen Jump" published today (Monday, April 4). The animation will be produced by "ufotable," which was in charge of the theatrical version of "Fate/stay night [Heaven's Feel]," "Katsugeki Toukendanbu" and "Tales of Zestiria the Cross. The key visual for the TV anime has been revealed, and the official website has also opened, so please check them out.

To commemorate the TV anime adaptation and the second anniversary of the serialization of this work, the cover and front cover color of "Weekly Shonen Jump" No. 27, which went on sale today, June 4 (Mon.), are featured. A booklet "Kimetsu Kitan Hyakkei" is also included as a supplement.

In 2013, he won an honorable mention in Weekly Shonen Jump's monthly award "The 70th JUMP Treasure New Comic Award" for his reading piece "Over Hunting". After that, he published "Monju Shiro Brothers," "Mr. Ribs," and "Zigzag in the Fly Garden," among other readings, before starting the serialization of "Demon Slayer" in the 11th issue of 2016.
