Comes curled up out of a vending machine! The world's first capsule toy, Gashapon R "Dango Bug" is now available in capsule vending machines nationwide!

Bandai Co., Ltd. has announced that the capsule toy "Dangomushi" (total of 3 types, 500 yen per capsule, tax included), which reproduces the rounded body of the dangomushi through thorough research of its structure, will be available at capsule vending machines in toy stores and mass retailers nationwide from the fifth week of August, 2018.

Bandai Co., Ltd. has announced that the capsule toy "Dango Bug" (3 types, 500 yen per capsule, tax included), which reproduces the rounded body of the dango bug based on thorough research of its structure, will be available from the 5th week of August 2018 in capsule vending machines installed in toy sections and mass retailers nationwide.

The world's first capsule-less toy with a 1000% scale model of a beetle will be released, born from the affinity between the rounded ecology of the crustacean "beetle," which has fascinated many children with its mysterious body structure, and capsule-less toys*, which have become increasingly popular in recent years due to their specifications and concept.
The development staff, who are not very good at insects, conducted thorough research on the unique and complex structure of the "rhino beetle" by (for some reason) consulting various literature and illustrated books, while making many prototypes, and succeeded in completely reproducing the curling up of the "rhino beetle" over a period of two years, which is an exceptional development period for a capsule toy.
The "Dangumushi" is rolled out of the vending machine in its curled-up state (approx. 74 mm in diameter), and when unfolded, it assumes a walking shape with an overall length of approx. 140 mm.
In addition to the normal "Dangomushi," the lineup includes the actual "Blue Dangomushi" and "White Dangomushi.
We hope that those of you who played with "Dangomushi" as a child will take up the challenge.

This product will be unveiled at the Bandai booth (West Hall 2, Booth No. 2-01) at the Tokyo Toy Show 2018, which will be held at Tokyo Big Sight from June 7 (Thu.) to 10 (Sun.), so it is recommended that you visit the booth to check it out.
The product does not use a plastic capsule for protection, which is characteristic of capsule toys, but instead contains the capsule's functionality within the product itself.
