Deracine, From Software's new adventure exclusively for PSVR, will be released in 2018!
Sony Interactive Entertainment (SEE) announced that "Deracine" for PS4 (PSVR required) will be released in Japan in 2018.
Deracine" is a completely new VR adventure game developed by the same development team behind "Bloodborne" for PS4: SEE JAPAN Studios, From Software, and director Eitaka Miyazaki. Based on the concept of "portraying a classic adventure game with the latest VR technology," a warm yet somewhat mysterious story unfolds.
A debut trailer that gives a glimpse of the game's worldview has been released.
Outline of "Deracine
Stage and setting
Deracine" is a French word meaning "rootless," "outcast," or "homeless.
The player appears as a fairy living in a "world of frozen time" at an old boarding school in the middle of nowhere, where six boys and a girl live with an old principal. Because they live in another time, humans cannot see the fairies. Invisible to everyone, the player interferes with the stopped time and moves to a different time to indirectly interact with the children and weave a story.
Exploring the World of Stopped Time
The world of stopped time is littered with various clues, such as small notes and old keys, that will stimulate the player's spirit of exploration. Together, these fragments of information reveal what is going on and how the player can interfere.
Players who live in a world of stopped time cannot directly engage with children. By interfering with the events of stopped time, by moving to a different time, and by using the special powers of the fairies that give them the "time of life," they can close the distance between them and the children and become friends awkwardly.
In the world of stopped time, the memories of the children remain, their appearances as illusions and their words as words. This is a major clue for the player to know the children and share their stories with them.
