High Score Girl" and Etsuko Yakushimaru sings the ED theme song! 7-inch vinyl record also released at the same time!

It has been announced that Etsuko Yakushimaru will sing the ending theme song from the TV anime "High Score Girl," which will start airing on July 13, 2018.

High Score Girl" is a popular comic series written by Rensuke Oshikiri and serialized in the monthly magazine "Big Gangan" (published by Square Enix). The story takes place in a video arcade during the heyday of 2D fighting games such as "Street Fighter II" in the 1990s, and depicts the interaction between Haruo Yaguchi, a main character whose only talent is video games, and his classmate Akira Ohno, a rich young lady with excellent grades. The anime adaptation was announced in 2013 but was put on hold, but with the cooperation of various game companies, it was successfully "restarted" as a TV anime. The broadcast date has been set for July 2018.

The director of the TV anime version will be Yoshiki Yamakawa, who is known for his love of video games, incorporating homages to games into the direction of his past works (representative works: Kill Me Baby, Little Busters! series, and "It's Wrong to Seek Encounters in Dungeons"), and series composition by Tatsuhiko Urahata, who has composed numerous anime based on light novels and video games. The production supervisory producer is Tomoji Matsukura, who has a love and knowledge of video games that ranks among the best in the animation industry and has worked in the video game industry in the past, and the animation production is by J.C. STAFF.

The music is by Yoko Shimomura, who has created many famous game music including "Street Fighter II" and "Kingdom Hearts. The OP theme will be performed by sora tob sakana, who is rapidly gaining popularity for their unique presence and distinctive musical style.

Etsuko Yakushimaru, a musician, artist, and producer who has worked on numerous projects including "Theory of Relativity," will be in charge of the ending theme song for this work. The new single is titled "Houkago Distraction" and will be released on August 22, 2012. 7-inch analog records will also be available.

In addition to Yakushimaru, Seiichi Nagai (G) and Motoki Yamaguchi (Dr) of Theory of Relativity will participate in the performance. The original author, Rensuke Oshikiri, is also involved in the jacket.

According to Rensuke Oshikiri, "The only person with a singing voice that can speak for Ms. Ohno (the heroine of "HIGH SCORE GIRL") is Mr. Yakushimaru," which led to the selection of Mr. Oshikiri. Here are some comments from Rensuke Oshikiri who actually heard the song.
