Mecha and bishojo. These are the two favorite things that have always captured the hearts and minds of otaku. When they are combined, they are sure to make you happy. How could they not be happy? Isn't that right? Hey, you know what? Hey, hey! Hey!
A new plastic model series has appeared that makes you want to say, "Hey! It is the "V.F.G. Macross Delta VF-31J Siegfried", the first in the "Variable Fighter Girl" series released by Aoshima Bunka Kyozai-sha. In this series, the variable fighter "VF-31J Siegfried" from the "Macross" series transforms into a powered suit that the beautiful girl can wear.
Moreover, it is a snap-fit kit that does not require any adhesive. Just by attaching stickers to it, you can create a colorful finish without painting!
This time, Akiba Research Institute challenged to build a pachi-kumi of this much talked-about new item! Take a look at the decal-culture quality of this new item!
First, we took the runner out of the box and took a commemorative photo.
The VF-31J Siegfried and the girl are assembled together, so there are a lot of parts, but it is nice to see that they are constructed in a way that takes the assembly order into consideration. It is surprisingly easy to assemble.
However, there are many small parts, so be careful not to accidentally drop it and have it go missing!
The assembly was completed in a jiffy!
You can put stickers on this by going to .......
This is what it looks like!
First, let's take a good look at the girl.
The swimsuit is really cute.
She comes with two pre-printed facial expressions. There is one flat face part with decals that can be used to create a face of your choice. The folded quartz-like part on her forehead (like a catsuit) is selectable between stickers and clear parts. The hands are selectable between open and clasped.
You can choose your favorite combination!
The tips of her hair are quite sharp and look good. The torso is also divided into three parts: chest, abdomen, and waist, so you can pose her in any way you like.
Then there is the "VF-31J Siegfried!
Just like the anime, it can transform into three forms: fighter, ghawk, and battroid. It can be transformed by replacing parts.
First, the fighter form.
The thin body, forward wings, and detailed lines have been beautifully reproduced. This is really just an assembly of what I bought, right? This quality is impressive. Even if you just display it like this, it's totally fine.
By the way, the folded quartz placed at the base of the nose can be either stickers or clear parts. This time, the photo was taken with clear parts.
The back side of the plane is also as shown here!
Next is the Gowalk form.
In case you are not familiar with the "Macross" series, GAWK is an intermediate form between a fighter and a battroid, with arms and legs growing out of the fighter plane. It seems to have a good balance of mobility and fighting ability.
In this product, a beautiful girl rides on the GAWK. Set the grip at the base of the nose, replace the leg parts, and set the arms. Then, the beautiful girl can ride on!
The leg parts of the VF-31J Siegfried have pins to hold the heels of the beautiful girl in place.
And then the Battroid form!
In the anime, it transformed into a humanoid robot, but in this product, it has become a power suit for the beautiful girl to wear.
The enlarged legs and the volume of the wings and nose that extend to the back tickle the hearts of mecha lovers. The mismatch between the powerful and the pretty girl is unintentionally heartbreaking!
Let her strike a girlish pose.
As you can see, the kit is quite voluminous, so if you want it to stand on its own, the poses are quite limited.
So, why not get the stand as well and display the VF-31J Siegfried like a Valkyrie soaring through the sky?
To be honest, I did not expect to be able to assemble such a cute and cool kit with Pachikumi. With this quality, I would like to continue to combine various "Macross" mecha with beautiful girls.
Personally, I would like to build the Metal Siren from "Macross II!
So, Aoshima-san! I look forward to working with you!
