Yoko Takahashi's new music video for "The Cruel Angel's Thesis" is released! Re-edited in HD by director Masa Suna Yuki

In conjunction with the release of singer Yoko Takahashi's double A-side single "Zankoku na Tenshi no Thesis / Soul no Rufuran" today, on the 20th, a new music video for "Zankoku na Tenshi no Thesis" (Director: Yuki Masa Suna, Production: Color) was released on YouTube.

Yoko Takahashi made her major debut as a solo singer in 1991 with "P.S. I miss you. She won the Newcomer of the Year Award at the Record Awards and the Newcomer of the Year Award at the Cable Awards. Her best-known works are "Zankoku na Tenshi no Thesis," the theme song for the TV animation "Neon Genesis Evangelion" broadcast in 1995, and "Soul no Lefranc," the theme song for the animation movie "Neon Genesis Evangelion the Movie: Sito Shinsei," released in 1997, which continues to sell well to this day. The total number of copies released has surpassed approximately 1.5 million (as of 2017). The single released today on the 20th is a maxi-single (both were released as CD singles at the time) containing such a representative song by Yoko Takahashi.

The new music video released today is based on the "Neon Genesis Evangelion" MUSIC VIDEO released in 2003 by director Yuki Masuna (then assistant director, storyboard, animation director, etc.), who has been involved in the Neon Genesis Evangelion series since the series was first broadcast. The music video was re-edited and re-tuned using HD footage from the "Neon Genesis Evangelion" series. The music video will be available on Apple Music, iTunes, animelo mix, recochoku, mora, and other sites from July 6 (Fri.).

In celebration of the release of the maxi-single "Zankoku na Tenshi no Thesis/The Soul of Lufran," Yoko Takahashi, who sings the song, will finally perform in Tokyo next week on her <Evangelion World Tour>! The world tour will kick off with a mini live performance at the Nico Nico Honsha event space on the B2F of P'PARCO, where EVANGELION STORE TOKYO-01 is also located in Ikebukuro, Tokyo.
