The "two Risa Imai" intermingled in a moment of eternity! BanG Dream! 5th☆LIVE Day2: Roselia -Ewigkeit-" Live Report
BanG Dream! Project's live event "BanG Dream! 5th☆Live" was held at Makuhari Messe in Chiba on May 12-13, 2018. This time we report on "Day 2: Roselia -Ewigkeit-" held on May 13.
Day 2 featured the smartphone game "Bandoli-Girls Band Party! Girls Band Party! Roselia, which was born out of the smartphone game "Bandoli-Girls Band Party! The opening act, as on the first day of the festival, will be TH.
As on the first day, the opening act was THE THIRD (temporary), who performed Afterglow's "That Is How I Roll! Reiho Kurachi, keyboardist, performed "Shuwarin☆☆Min" by Pastel*Palettes with vocals.
These five members made the last stage with smiles on their faces and made the best of it.
Prior to the live, it had been announced that Yurika Endo would retire from performing and replace the role of Lisa Imai, so this would be the last time Roselia with "Yurika Endo as Lisa Imai, the bass player" would perform on stage.
However, rather than focusing on that, each member seemed to be trying to create and preserve the best live performance by these five members in their own characters. When the lights shone on the curtain covering the stage, the five members of Roselia and the band set came to life. The special live started with "ONENESS".
As the live started, I was reminded of how special Yurika Endo is. The presence of her solo, the presence of one phrase of her harmonies. The way she played the bass and smiled with one foot on the foot speaker was amazingly picturesque. For "Determination Symphony," Endo-san went downstage to the edge of the stage to be as close to the audience as possible, as if he was trying to burn the audience's view into his eyes. The session feeling between Ms. Aiba and Mr. Kudo was impressive in the first two songs. In "ONENESS," Ms. Aiba sang while holding Mr. Kudo's shoulder, and in "Determination Symphony," she stepped closer to his side.
Looking around the venue, Ms. Endo said, "It's so warm! and looked around the excited audience happily. Mr. Sakuragawa then performed a nostalgic material by imitating Yukina (Ako doing her best), "Those who can't enjoy the show safely will be asked to leave Roselia.
The cover corner started with the medley of "Soul no Rufran" - "Hacking to the Gate" - "ETERNAL BLAZE". Soul no Lefran" and "Hacking to the Gate" were two of the three songs Roselia performed at "BanG Dream! 3rd☆LIVE Sparklin'PARTY 2017! The fact that they performed the songs they gave their all back then in the form of a medley also shows the growth and effort of the five members. Mr. Sakuragawa was happy to hear, "Akkos have grown to the point where they can do a medley of their own songs! Sakuragawa-san was also happy to hear that. Aiba apologized as Yukina, "Sorry to those who wanted to listen to the full performance, okay? Endo replied, "Yukina, you apologize in an unusually cute way! Ms. Endo replied, "Yukina, you are unusually cute! But when Ms. Kudo asked for more from Ms. Endo, Ms. Endo replied mischievously, "Sorry if you wanted to hear the full story. Mr. Endo replied mischievously, "I'm sorry if you wanted to hear the full story.
Aiba quoted the lyrics of the song, "I believe there is no end," before launching into the first cover song, "Deep Love," which was arranged by a dynamic and thick band. With the dynamic and thick sound of the band arrangement, Ms. Aiba sang about the feelings and love between two people who are on different paths. The world of the lyrics seems to overlap with the relationship between the five Lisas and Yukinas, and I feel that there were strong feelings in choosing to sing this song in full size from the cover songs. The thought is conveyed in Ms. Aiba's eyes as she gazes at Mr. Endo in the phrase, "We'll meet again, won't we?"
"I believe there is no end."
Between the acts, a variety of videos were shown, which were also made on the second day of the show. The plan was to test the five members' love for Roselia in a quiz, with 10 points deducted for each wrong answer and 1 point deducted if they lost the character they played while answering the questions. The girls are known for the gap between their serious performance on stage and their relaxed, friendly and lively MC and talk show. There were many highlights in the video, such as Kudo-san being tricked into imitating the original "Choco Coronet ♡" (by Rimi Ushigome) that she had done in the past.
When the five members appeared on stage in new costumes, the pin spot was a drum set. Sakurakawa-san's spirited drum playing was joined by the sounds of the other three members, and from the profound original live introduction, the audience rushed into "LOUDER"! The performance was a crystallization of Roselia's efforts as a band.
The chorus of "Netsuiro Starmine" followed with the soulful calls of the entire audience, raising the temperature of the entire venue even higher. Sakuragawa's bewitching expression during her solo part was so impressive that it made my heart pound, and at the same time, I felt that Ako on stage would be able to pull off something like this. Aiba's climactic cry of "To the top, bloom madly! was the most Roselia-like, bewitching and gorgeous sound.
The new costumes were designed differently for each member, including the length of the flutter at the back of the skirt. For example, Rinko's overall length, including the skirt, was long and her fluffy silhouette was impressive. Endo-san said she liked the cuff design and decided to spin around and throw a kiss.
Ms. Aiba sang a ballad number, "Kiseki (Trajectory)," saying, "I present this song to the members I have played with and to you who have followed me this far. Endo-san and Kudo-san, sitting on the stage steps, listened to Ms. Aiba's voice as she sang about the bonds between people, as if they were engraved in their hearts, while Endo-san's gentle voice enveloped Ms. Aiba's voice in the chorus.
"Thank you. It never ends, there is a bond."
While "Re:birthday" is a grand song, what was even more impressive than usual were the expressions on the members' faces. I will never forget the look that Mr. Asaka gave the members as he gently smiled at them during the performance, or the moment when Endo's and Aiba's eyes met perfectly as they searched for each other on stage over and over again. It was a song of determination to continue to weave a future nonetheless, beyond the point of connecting the flirtatious bonds.
The first performance of "Hot Color Starmine," which was attended by 7,000 people, was followed by the first performance of "Natsuiro Starmine. The first performance of "Hot Color Starmine. The Saitama Super Arena stage at Anisama. The private Roselia sleepover party in preparation for Anisama. The projection mapping performance in Makuhari. And today's best stage. The 5 members who had arrived at the present time raised the tension of the audience again with solo performances introducing the band members, and then went on to the last number "-HEROIC ADVENT-"! Let me hear your voice!" The blazing audience responded to Mr. Aiba's urging by shouting and calling with all their might. The chorus of "WoWWoW" never stopped, and Ms. Aiba's vocals grew stronger and clearer as if piercing through the chorus. After the song was over, the audience's loud cheers with all their hearts and souls in them remained in my ears forever.
Before the encore, Roselia's rating check video was shown again. The variety in the video was a sign of the audience's willingness to enjoy the live with smiles on their faces until the very end. Mr. Aiba also said, "We discussed that Roselia's live is to perform with smiles on their faces until the end, without being gloomy. However, the only thing I was really impressed by was when Ms. Aiba, who was so blurry that she disappeared from the screen as a punishment during the entire rating check, confidently answered correctly the identification of Lisa's (Ms. Endo) bass tone. (The final results were 69 points for Sakuragawa-san (Ako), 62 points for Endo-san (Lisa), 33 points for Akasaka-san (Rinko), 29 points for Kudo-san (Sayo), who was sometimes overflowing with the middle person, and a shocking -7 points for Aiba-san (Yukina), who was so mellow (but confident) in both the quiz and character maintenance. (The result was a shocking -7).
The five members appeared on stage again and sang "Neo-Aspect," the first song of the encore. On the screen behind them was a 3DCG animation of Roselia's live stage! It was heartbreaking to show the perfect link between the characters and the performers, one of the key elements of "BanG Dream! Ms. Aiba's choreography of hiding her left and right eyes in time with the lyrics was impressive, and by the end of the performance, she sang with both eyes wide open.
Ms. Aiba declared, "I want today's live to last forever, so I'm going to do something I can only do now." Ms. Endo followed with, "I hope we can show what Roselia has been and will be with this song, which is important to us, The next song was Roselia's first number, "BLACK SHOUT". The five members played straight and strong, and Mr. Aiba's hair danced violently. Then came the phrase "I'll connect you with my courage.
"Yuuki de tsunagu kara" (I'll connect you with courage).
Its reverberations echo like a tail, on the other side of a silence that seems like an eternity. What appeared in the light was Yurika Endo, who has played Lisa Imai up until now, and Yuki Nakajima, who will play Lisa Imai from now on, both standing side by side with their basses. After the song, Ms. Aiba introduced "We are the sixth member of Roselia! Nakajima-san was introduced by Aiba-san, "I'm Yuki Nakajima, the newest member of Roselia! I am Yuki Nakajima, the newest member of Roselia! Ms. Endo and Ms. Nakajima seemed to be good friends like sisters in the waiting room, and on stage, Ms. Endo took care of Ms. Nakajima who was nervous and taught her the "OK! pose for Lisa in "BLACK SHOUT".
After sending Ms. Nakajima off the stage after her first performance in front of the large audience, they went on to the last number "YODAMARI ROAD NIGHT," which was really the last number with the five of them together. Aiba and her friends looked really happy like sisters as they sang on stage, holding each other gently on their shoulders. In order to sing as characters in today's live, Aiba seemed to put a lot of feelings into the special phrases in the lyrics. The most eloquent phrase of all was "Thank you," when she posed with her hand outstretched to Mr. Endo.
After singing the whole song and completing her performance as Yukina Minato, Ms. Aiba said "Yurishii...Thank you! Thank you so much, everyone, for today! she said in her own words.
During the last MC, Sakuragawa expressed that "from now on, there will be 11 members of Roselia (including the characters). Mr. Akeisaka said he could not cry because his heart could not catch up with the music, while Mr. Kudo could not stop crying.
Seeing how Endo tried to remain stout-hearted and smiling Lisa Imai to the end in such a situation, I felt once again that Lisa Imai up to now could only have been played by Yurika Endo. That is why I felt that her words to Ms. Nakajima, who will take over Lisa's life, "I think Yukki will play a new Lisa who is different from me in a very wonderful way," made me feel that Ms. Nakajima's baggage would be reduced, even if only a little.
I hope that the new Lisa will be able to reduce her baggage even just a little bit. I feel very, very happy to be in a band with these five and to have friends. I think it is very precious to have someone who cries for you, don't you? So I would like to send off everyone and the members of Roselia with a smile, and to be sent off. I will continue to support Roselia as if I am playing the bass guitar next to Yukki. Are you all ready to follow Roselia forever and ever? Let's love Roselia together for a long time to come! This is Yurika Endo playing the role of Lisa Imai!
She left the stage with a smile on her face and a memory of the gorgeous and gorgeous way she had supported Roselia as their base.
