Thoughts on "Sweet Punishment - I Am the Warden's Pet": a look back at a refractory romantic drama

I've finished "Sweet Punishment - I'm the Warden's Pet", did you watch it all the way through?

Each episode is almost three and a half minutes long, so all 12 episodes combined are less than 45 minutes! Let's take a look back at how many elements were packed into such a short time. This is only a look back at the TV version.

⇒Sweet Punishment - I am a pet for the jailer

Let's start with the introduction.

The year is 20XX--Yona is locked up in prison for a crime she did not commit.

What awaited her there was the ruthless and sweet domination by a beautiful guard, Aki Myojin.

The ruthless and sweet domination by the beautiful guard, Aki Myojin....

Don't think you can escape from the Black Wings Prison... from me.

During the physical examination, in prison, and even during a visit with her lover...,

What will be Hina's fate as her mind and body are tossed about?

Did you notice? This story is set in the near future! I shudder to think what would happen if the real Japan were to become a country full of criminals.

Point 1: "Sweet Punishment" is unique among TL (Teen Love) anime series

The manga serialized in the web comic "ComicFesta" that has been made into an anime so far is

"A night of lust with a monk..."

Inside the skirt was an animal.

"An arranged marriage with a student, a bossy, problematic boy."

"A 25-year-old high school girl."

The first four films are "The Monk", "The Second", "The Third", and "The Fourth". The first one starts with a monk, followed by a beautiful transvestite, a teenage high school boy, a handsome teacher, and now a guard. This is already different. I can't imagine how they are going to put in a romantic element. It is against the law to have XXXX with a guard in the first place.

Point 2: The prison itself is an impossible setting.

The prison in which this story takes place has only one girl, the rest are all men, and of course the guards are men. The rest are all men, and of course, the guards are men. This is the kind of setting you would expect to see in a B-movie. Are there that many criminals?

Point 3: Reckless attempts to escape from prison twice in 45 minutes.

The first escape plan is told openly in the visiting room. The plan is already obvious at this point, isn't it? Yakumo, Yona's lover and the accountant of the embezzling company, is the one who came up with this plan in the first place. I think that the plan was to frame Hina and extend her prison term. Incidentally, Yakumo somehow stops appearing in the latter half of the film.

Point 4: Refracted form of love

This is the first point of this story. You almost forget that this was a romance anime to begin with. The main character, Hina, a guard, Myojin, and a prisoner, Higa, a yakuza, are in a love triangle, but all of their affections are developed in a peculiar way.
In the first place, Hina has not broken up with her boyfriend Yakumo, so she is in a two-timing, or even three-timing situation. As for Myojin, he makes Hina do XXXX in various ways, in an expression of affection called "inflected training. The one who had an honest love affair was Higa, a yakuza. In the end, Myojin, who had trained Hina to the end in the form of punishment, stole her heart. To be honest, I would have liked to see a little more of the chemistry between these two.

Conclusion

After all, it is impossible to pack so much content into a short anime. Also, the fact that the complete version exists means that the rich love scenes were not visualized in the TV version, so it inevitably turned out to be like a gag anime.
However, personally, I enjoyed it for what it was. If you were dissatisfied with the TV version, you can see exactly the romance part by watching it together with the complete version.
