Penguin Highway" unveils its latest visuals and trailer! Additional cast members including Hidetoshi Nishijima and Naoto Takenaka announced!

The latest trailer and new key visual for the animated film "Penguin Highway," which will be released nationwide this summer, have been unveiled.

Penguin Highway" is a "new" work by Tomihiko Morimi that depicts a slightly mysterious experience of a summer between "Aoyama-kun," a slightly cheeky fourth grader who looks straight ahead to the future, and his "elder sister. The director, Tomihiko Morimi, is a member of the 14th Japan Media Arts Council.
The film is directed by the up-and-coming 29-year-old director Ishida Yuyasu, winner of the Excellence Award in the Animation Division of the 14th Japan Media Arts Festival. This work marks the long-awaited feature-length debut of this creator who is the focus of much attention in the industry. The film was produced by "Studio Colorido," which has received rave reviews for its delicate and warm expression despite its full-digital animation, and has received endless offers for collaboration.

In addition, the role of "Aoyama-kun," the main character, will be voiced by Kitakana, a young actress who is currently the talk of the town for her appearance in "Viprayers: Moshi Moshi Asa Dora {An Asa Drama about a Supporting Actor Living on a Deserted Island}. She won the lead role in an audition and will try her hand at voice acting for the first time in this film. Yu Aoi, a talented actress with a unique presence, will play the role of the "big sister" who has both a mischievous and bright side and a mysterious atmosphere.

A new key visual and the latest trailer for the film have been released. In addition, actors Hidetoshi Nishijima and Naoto Takenaka were newly announced as additional cast members. Mr. Nishijima will play the role of the father of the main character, Aoyama-kun, and Mr. Takenaka will play the role of the father of Hamamoto-san, a girl who is a classmate of Aoyama-kun. Other popular voice actors will also participate, including Rie Kugimiya as Uchida-kun, a classmate, and Megumi Ban as Hamamoto-san.

＜STORY>
Aoyama, a boy in the fourth grade, learns about the world one day at a time and records what he learns in a notebook. He is smart and studies hard every day, so he has no idea how great he will be when he grows up. Aoyama gets along well with his "big sister" at the dentist's office where he goes to see her. She takes care of Aoyama, who is mature and smart, even if he is a little cocky. One day, penguins appear in the suburban town where Aoyama lives. Where did they come from and where did they go? Aoyama begins his research to solve the mystery of the penguins. Then, Aoyama witnesses a Coke can transformed into a penguin when his "sister" throws it. Aoyama is stunned, but his smiling sister says to him, "Solve this mystery. Try to solve this riddle. Can you do it? What is the relationship between the sister and the penguin? And can you solve this riddle? This is a slightly mysterious and unforgettable story of that summer.
