A special video of Rie Tanaka and KENN performing a convincing station attendant announcement from the sci-fi suspense drama "Humans" is now available!
The "Humans" series is a science fiction suspense drama series that depicts a near-future world where humans coexist with humanoid high-performance robots called "Shinsu. In the Japanese dubbed versions of Season 1 and Season 2, currently available exclusively on Hulu, the main character Mia is voiced by popular voice actress Rie Tanaka, and Leo, a man who knows Mia's past, is voiced by KENN.
From the final episode of Season 2 distributed on Thursday, June 21, a special video was released in which the two actresses play "mob characters" other than Mia and Leo.
In a world where "thingus" (a human substitute that performs household chores and tasks) have become widespread, the Hawkins family buys a thingus and names it "Anita" to reduce the burden on their busy wife. Anita faithfully does as she is told, but she begins to feel uncomfortable with her occasional expressions and gestures, which are somewhat different from those of a normal Thinsu. Then there is Leo, a mysterious man looking for a Shinsu named Mia. Dr. Milligan, who was once involved in the development of Shinsu and now lives in retirement with the old Shinsu, and the disparate episodes eventually come together.
Anita, who is supposed to be an elaborately programmed robot, still retains memories of her past as Mia. What is the truth behind this robot?
Humans" is attracting worldwide attention as it is broadcast by AMC, an American TV station that airs numerous hit dramas, and Channel 4, known as the most innovative TV station in the UK.
In the special video released this time, an announcement is made by a station attendant on the platform. In the video, KENN announces in a nasal voice peculiar to station staff, "There is a train coming to platform 4," and Rie Tanaka plays the voice of the female announcer who follows her.
In the main story, the dialogue of the "mob characters" would be overlooked. The two leading actors, who have a lot of lines to say, perform them with great enthusiasm. It is said that the other dubbing cast members who were watching their lively performances nearby were struggling to hold back their laughter.
This special video shows the meticulous attention to detail that went into the making of this film. If you take this opportunity to revisit scenes that you may have watched casually, you may discover something new.
