The media mix voice actor vocal unit "Kleissis" was born! Report on the unveiling of their debut song!

On July 6, 2018, a full-fledged female voice actress vocal unit "Kleissis" was unveiled at Kanda Myojin in Akihabara, Tokyo.

Kleissis" is a media mix voice-over vocal unit jointly planned by Seiyu Grand Prix, Jenco, and X-arts Japan. Seven female voice actresses were selected from approximately 400 people in an audition to become divas and express a fantastic world with their overwhelming singing voices.

Yuki Tanaka (Kasumi Akane), Miu Tomita (Akira Rindo), Marina Yamada (Sayuki Rurikawa), Mari Takahashi (Yoon Asaki), Ki Yamane (Hirona Shimizu), Yukiko Motoyoshi (Mio Tachibana), and Yuki Kaneko (Miu Mizutori) were among the seven voice actors who took the stage at Kanda Myojin this time. They performed a mini live performance in front of the press and related parties.

At the unveiling, the origin of the group's name was first explained.

The group name "Kleissis" is a double meaning of the Greek word "Klèisi" (to call) and "Kleis + Sister" from "κλεις" = "key," meaning "nun (maiden) or sister who holds the key. In addition, the word "Kleios" (Κλειώ) in ancient Greek means "goddess of blessings," so the word "Kleios" also has that meaning.

Next, the participating creators were announced. Illustrations are by Haruko Iizuka ("Tamayura," "Little Busters! The Idolmaster SideM" character design, etc.), music production by Naoya Matsuzaki (SUBZERO) (assistant producer of the music for the anime "Hakuouki: Heki Bokuroku" and soundtrack production for the game "Star Ocean: Till the End on Time"), lyrics by Saori Kodama ( Detective Opera Milky Holmes", "IS (Infinite Stratos)", "Aikatsu! and many other anime songs), Takahiro Yamada (Snow halation (μ's), LOVELESS WORLD (μ's), Best mark smile (Minori Chihara), etc.), and Shinya Saito (Earphones, Uchida Marei, fripSide, etc.) for arranging. They will also participate in "Comic Market 94" from August 10 to 12, and perform at anime events and live events in Tokyo and around the country.

On August 22, they will release their first single "Kleissis Chaos," a two-song standard edition and a limited first edition that includes two solo versions of each member. A total of eight different versions will be released at the same time.

In addition, a first supporter campaign will start on July 10 to commemorate the debut of Kleissis. Finally, "Kleissis" appeared on stage. Dressed in white fantastic costumes, the seven members performed their debut song "Kleissis Chaos.

Unlike the image of their neat and clean costumes, the song was an intense yet beautiful upper tune. The vocalists took turns to sing one after another, their voices flowing and resonating.

What was even more impressive was the high level of their singing ability. The seven members sang sometimes passionately and sometimes fragilely, captivating everyone's eyes and ears.

--Please give us your impression of the debut song "Kleissis Chaos" and your thoughts on today's unveiling live.

Yuki Kaneko (Kaneko): It's a very cool song, and since I don't usually sing songs like this, I think it's a challenge for me. When I sing a character song, I always think about how I can express the character, but this time it is close to the way I sing, so I was able to challenge myself in many ways.

Today was the first time for all seven of us to dance together, and it made me feel that we are going to do this together! I feel that we are going to do it together. We will do our best to deliver our songs together, so please give us your support!

Mari Takahashi (Takahashi) "Kleissis Chaos" includes the lyric "Kleissis" in the song, and I think it is a perfect song for our beginning and fits our worldview. I thought the teamwork was so good that it didn't feel like it was the third time the seven of us had gotten together. We will continue to work together as one and do our best.

Marina Yamada (Yamada): I have often sung cute songs, but "Kleissis Chaos" is a very cool song, and when I first heard it, I thought it would be a great challenge for me. I was very nervous before the live performance, but now I feel like I've done it. The seven of us are all unique in a good way, and each of us has our own character, so I will do my best to make the most of that.

Yuki Tanaka (Tanaka): As everyone has said, when I first heard "Kleissis Chaos," it was really cool and I thought, "This is the kind of song I wanted to sing! I thought, "This is the kind of song I wanted to sing! I hope you enjoy the humor and the really beautifully united singing voice. I was also very nervous when I performed today, but once I started singing, I had a lot of fun, and it was reassuring to know that there were six other members in the group besides me.

Mimyu Tomita (Tomita): The lyrics of "Kleissis Chaos" are very deep, so I enjoyed creating the flow of emotions while singing. All seven of us have different voices, and I wondered how the harmony would be, but when I actually sang it today, I was pleasantly surprised to hear the combined voices of all seven of us, and I was able to sing it calmly and confidently.

Ki Yamane (Ki Yamane): It was the first time in my life for me to be dressed in costumes, put on makeup, sing and dance, so I was anxious and nervous until today's unveiling. I'm really glad that we made Kleissis with these seven members. I am very happy to have created Kleissis with these seven members, and I am confident that we will be able to go to a wonderful place that no one has ever seen before!

Yukiko Motoyoshi (Motoyoshi): Like Yamane-san, this was my first time to stand on stage and sing and dance. I had always liked singing, but I had never danced before, so I was really nervous. But during the several dance practices, all the members helped me a lot by teaching me how to dance. I was nervous until right before the show, but once I got on stage, I was able to sing and dance to the best of my ability. I am happy that I was able to stand on stage with my heart in my chest because I trust all the members. When I heard about "Kleissis," I thought it would be more than just a voice-over unit; it would be a content that would deliver music to everyone, so I am happy to be able to show off my songs to everyone. I will work even harder from now on, so please give me your support.

--Please tell us your impression of your character.

Kaneko: I'm more of a high-strung person, but Miu looks cool and sexy, so I thought it would be nice if I could bring out a little sexiness in her dance moves. I am looking forward to seeing how the characters in "Kleissis" will come closer to us in a 2.5 dimensional way.

Takahashi: I cut off 15 cm of my hair this time. I wanted to be as close to Yoon as possible, so I wore my hair the same way. Yoon is cute and loose-fitting, but she has a very glamorous figure. They are trying to make the character more like her, but I don't want her to get closer and closer to me and end up with a poor figure (laughs), so I will do my best to become a nice lady like Yoon.

Yamada: Sayuki was the first person I noticed, so I am happy to be able to play the role. I usually part my hair to the left, but since I was cast as Sayuki, I've been wearing it parted to give it more of a Sayuki-chan look. I am very happy that the setting and her personality are a little like mine, and I will continue to love Sayuki more and more.

Tanaka Kasumi is cute, energetic, and quite innocent. I am also thinking about growing my hair long and trying it out.

Tomita: As you can see from the standing picture, Akira gives the impression of being the coolest and quietest girl, but I think he has more passion for singing than anyone else. I tend to be considered cool by people who meet me for the first time, but I have a lot of passion (laughs), so I think I am similar to Akira in that respect. I hope to express Akira's passion and heat through my singing voice.

I also asked the makeup artist to put the color of the character on the corner of my eyes, so that is also a key point!

Yamane: Hirona and I have a lot of similarities on the inside. Hirona is a germaphobe, and I also have that problem. I can't press the handrails on the train or the "pin drop! She also likes spicy food, but I also like Korean food and eat kimchi every day, so I think we have similar tastes. She is also a very serious girl, and I have been told that I am also "serious" when it comes to acting, and I have a serious side that says "I'll do it when I have to do it," so I think we are similar in that respect. So I feel like I am "becoming her" rather than acting.

Motoyoshi: Mio is the oldest sister, so she has the only setting where she can drink alcohol, so I wonder if this is normal for me to mention that I like shochu (laughs). When I start talking, I am often told that I am quite mature, and I like to look at things carefully, but my first impression was that I could play the role with a relaxed mind. I am looking forward to seeing how the character will develop in the future. I think Mio will be the oldest sister who looks after the team well and leads everyone together, so I would like to be able to be close to her. As for the character of Mio, I hope that I can incorporate a little of what I like about her, and that we can walk together as Mio and Mio as me.

--Finally, what are your thoughts on the costumes?

Tanaka: When we saw it for the first time, everyone said, "Whoa! I think everyone went "Wow!

Yamane: When I went to the costume fitting, I saw the costumes on display and thought, "You must be a wonderful costume designer. I thought it was very beautiful and fancy, with detailed embroidery.

Tanaka The key point is the "Kleissis" mark on the shoulders. Also, each of the gloves, shoes, and headdresses are unique, so I think you can enjoy looking at each of them. They are very cute and I am very happy.
