Switch "Darius Cosmic Collection" to be available for pre-order on Amazon Prime Day only! Includes GB version of "Sir Gaia

TAITO announced that it will offer pre-orders of limited-edition "Darius Cosmic Collection" for Switch, scheduled for release on February 28, 2019, during Amazon.co.jp's big "Prime Day" sale on the general online store.

The "Darius" series of side-scrolling shooters first appeared as an arcade game in 1986, and was much talked about for its large, connected three-screen cabinet and sound system with bass speakers built into the bench seat, which were innovative mechanisms at the time. The boss characters in the game, which were based on the motif of aquatic creatures such as coelacanths and sperm whales, are still popular today as synonymous with the "Darius" franchise.

The "DARIUS Cosmic Collection" includes selected titles from the "DARIUS" series released up to now. The standard edition includes four arcade titles, while the limited edition includes five games released as home video games in addition to the standard edition titles.
