The series has sold more than 1 million copies in total. (published by Takarajima-sha) for two consecutive years in 2017 and 2018, and the 28th Shogi Pen Club Grand Prize in the Literature and Art Division, where it won the Excellence Award.
This event was held in Hachioji, where, according to the cast members, "Yaichi is among the characters. The event included a special radio show, games, live recording, and a live performance of the theme song.
In the center of the stage, a super-sized chess piece with "Ryuoh" written on it was making its presence known, but to the surprise of everyone, the piece opened to the left and right, and the cast members appeared from the back to start the event.
First, a radio program "Yuma Uchida and Rina Hidaka's Radio Morio no Oshigoto! was performed with the participation of Akane Yano, who was in charge of character design and chief animation director for the anime.
The first topic was a talk session in which Ms. Yano looked back on the works while looking at pictures of scenes from the anime she had chosen.
The first scene chosen was from the fourth episode "The Other Ai," in which Amanoi says to her grandfather, "Grandpa's an idiot! to her grandfather. Looking back on the recording of the scene, Ms. Sakura said that she retook a total of about five patterns with various feelings, such as "harshly" and "I don't hate it as much as I hate the words. However, all of them had slightly different nuances, and even Mr. Sakura himself was not sure which one was adopted for the actual anime.
In addition, a shot of Ginko's hip was selected from the 10th "Spinning Dragon" and 11th "Kotobuki," and a shot of Machi and Etsu standing side by side from the 1st "Oshikake Deshi", 6th "All-Rounder" and 12th "The Last Judgement" to show the difference in their bust sizes, which were shown on the screen. The scene shown on the screen was selected with great attention to detail by Ms. Yano.
Next was the "Ryuoh Tournament Sealed Move Prediction. In this corner, Mr. Uchida answered the questions, and the other cast members guessed his answers. and "What would be your catchphrase for 'XXX's Yuma'? Three questions were prepared: "What is your charm point? When the "best thing" question was asked, the words "yakiniku" and "elder sister" were listed as NG words, and when this warning was shown on the screen, the audience laughed loudly.
After the radio corner, Mr. Yano left the stage. Next up was the "Hachioji Girls Open," a showdown corner.
The teams were divided into four against four to compete for points, with the Hinazuru team consisting of Ms. Hidaka, Mr. Kanemoto, Ms. Sengoku, and Ms. Machico, and the Yashagami team consisting of Ms. Sakura, Ms. Kubo, Ms. Hashimoto, and Ms. Ogura, with Mr. Uchida and Ms. Chino serving as MCs.
The first showdown started with the "Ryuoh Quiz," in which participants answered a maniacal quiz and were awarded 10 points for correct answers and 5 points for interesting answers that the two MCs liked.
However, the first question was a maniacal one: "The total time Ai read ahead "ko...ko ......" during the game in the work. The Yashagami team complained that the Hinatsuru team, which included Hidaka-san, who played Ai, had the advantage, but Hidaka-san, who also played Ai, brushed it off, saying that she herself did not know the answer to that question. Before seeing the answers of the two teams, Mr. Uchida suddenly tried to give the correct answer, but the Hinatsuru team answered 120 seconds and the Yashagami team answered 3 minutes (180 seconds). The results were announced on the screen, with the corresponding scene displayed on the screen, and the total time for each scene projected on the screen. The result was a whopping "124.56 seconds," with the Hinatsuru team getting points for near pinpoint accuracy. The audience applauded Hidaka, as if to say, "I knew that the person who played the role was different from the others.
Ayumu Kannabe (CV: Nobuhiko Okamoto), who played in the second game, "Everyday Life with a Disciple," answered the question "the name of the secret that you released during the game against Yaichi" and "the word that was written twice in the live broadcast on Nico Nico Live". The audience laughed a lot at the quiz corner.
The last part of the quiz was titled "Serious Shogi-Kaureshi," in which the audience had to slide a piece from a pile of pieces on a shogi board with a single finger without making a sound.
The audience was very careful not to make any noise on stage or in the audience, and the venue was quiet and still. Some players proceeded cautiously and took only one piece, while others took unexpectedly bold actions and gained several pieces. As the game unfolded speedily and with a sense of tension in the air, it was Ms. Sakura's turn to take her turn, but she stopped moving in the face of a pile of pieces that seemed to collapse no matter which way she attacked. As a result, Ms. Sakura's choice was to proceed with the game carefully, but she was too careful, and the Yashagami team used up all their time there, and the Shogi-Kawasu game was won by the Hinatsuru team.
Ms. Chinami Hashimoto
However, in this game, different points were actually assigned according to the pieces won, and the scores were directly affected by the game. The results revealed that the Hinazuru team scored 110 points, while the Yashagami team, which was thought to have lost as time ran out, scored 120 points. When the scores from the previous games were added up, the Hinazuru team had 140 points, while the Yashagami team had 155 points, making their total victory a rare occurrence, even though they lost the game.
After the exciting game corner, the live postrecording corner was held.
In this corner, the cast members, led by Uchida-san, improvised throughout, and the audience laughed as hard as they did in the game corner.
The event, which had been full of laughter, was now coming to a close.
After the live postrecording, the entire cast left the stage and Machico reappeared alone. As scenes from the anime were shown on the screen, she sang "Korekara," the opening theme song of the TV anime, inviting the audience into the world of the work once again.
The cast members appeared on stage again, and at the end of the show, they gave comments to the audience that conveyed their passion for the work. The comments continued to overflow with hopes and wishes for the second season, and finally, Ms. Uchida closed the event on a high note by reiterating the appeal of this work, saying, "The way the characters move forward is heartwarming.
