This year has been a hot summer in Japan, with summer days, heat waves, and tropical nights every day. What made this hot summer even hotter was the "Best of Mamoru Hosoda" competition held at Akiba Research Institute from July 9 (Mon.) to July 24 (Tue.).

During the two-week voting period, a total of 16,077 votes were collected!

Let's check out the results.

No. 2 The Girl Who Leapt Through Time (3603 votes)
No. 3 Wolf Children (2391 votes)
No. 4 Children of the Bakemono (1393 votes)
No.5 Digimon Adventure: Our War Game! (1387 votes)

The first place was still awarded to this film, "Summer Wars. The first place went to this film, "Summer Wars", which was also ranked first. The second place went to "Future Mirai" (251 votes), followed by "Summer Wars" (251 votes), "The Future of Mirai" (115 votes), and "Summer Wars" (251 votes).

The second place went to "The Girl Who Leapt Through Time.
The film was broadcast on Friday Road Show on July 20, during the voting period, and it gained approximately 700 more votes from the interim results to take second place.

The third place went to "Wolf Children: Rain and Snow.
The top three films have remained at the same ranking since the poll began, and it seems that the top three Hosoda-directed films remain unchanged in the Akiba Research Institute's top three rankings.

The fourth place went to "Bakemono no ko" and the fifth to "Digimon Adventure: Our War Game! in fifth place.
These are the only two films that have changed their rankings since the midterm results were announced.
The two films were in a fierce dead heat from the beginning, with "Bakemono no ko" coming in fourth place by a mere six votes.

In sixth place was "ONE PIECE THE MOVIE Baron Omatsuri and the Island of Secrets. This is Hosoda's first feature-length animated film as a director, but the difference in atmosphere from the original work showed a split in tastes.

The latest film, "Mirai no Mirai," was only open to the public for five days, but it steadily increased its number of votes from 50, 70, and 90 before its release, and as a result, received 115 votes.

In this way, once again, all of Hosoda's films are masterpieces.
His latest work "Mirai no Mirai" opened in theaters just last week, and "Bakemono no ko" (No. 4) will be broadcast today on NTV's regular movie slot "Friday Road Show!
Whether you have never seen Hosoda's works before or are already a big fan, this is a good opportunity to see his theatrical works.
