Akiba Research Institute has started a present campaign to invite readers to a general preview of the theater version of "Furikuri Progress!

The OVA series "Furikuri" was released in six volumes between 2000 and 2001. It is the directorial debut of Kazuya Tsurumaki, who is known for directing the "Evangelion" series and "Aim for the Top 2!" The sharp design work, unpredictable direction, and dynamic action scenes set to the alternative rock music of "the pillows" riveted many viewers, The film has sold a total of approximately 250,000 DVDs in Japan.

DVD sales in Japan reached a cumulative total of approximately 250,000 units. The momentum of the film spread overseas, winning the Bronze Award in the Animation Division at the 2003 Fantasia Film Festival in Canada. In 2018, "Furikuri" will be released as a completely new sequel to "Furikuri Alternative" (September 7) and "Furikuri Progress" (September 28), both of which have received support both at home and abroad.

Kazuya Tsurumaki, the creator of "Furikuri," will supervise the production of the new film, Yoshiyuki Sadamoto will draft the characters, and the pillows will provide music for the film. Katsuyuki Motohiro, director of the "Odoru Daisousasen" series and "PSYCHO-PASS: Psycho-Pass," is the new general director, and Hideto Iwai, writer of "Last Dinner," is the screenwriter.

The theatrical version of "Furikuri Alterna" will be directed by Yasushi Uemura, who portrayed heavy combat in "Jujo Senki" and showed his pop direction in "Punch Line. Haruhara Haruko will be played by Mayumi Shintani, as in the OVA series.
The director of "Furikuri Progress" is Kazuto Arai, Toshihisa Umiya, Yuki Ogawa, Yoshihide Ibata, Satoshi Suezawa, Hiroshi Ikehata, and six other unique creators with a love for Furikuri. In the movie "Furikuri Progress," Haruko splits into two, and one of them, Haruha Raharu, is played by Megumi Hayashibara, and the other, Jinyu, by Miyuki Sawashiro.
