A single with plenty of buzz has been completed!

Tenshi yo hometown wo kikika (Hear my hometown, angels!)" is a song that makes the most of low tones!

─ ─ Your live concert at Hibiya Open-Air Concert Hall on June 17 was a lot of fun, wasn't it? Could you start by telling us how you felt that day?

May'n We titled this year's hall tour "and You" because we wanted to deliver our feelings to each and every one of you, and we wanted to be close to everyone. I wanted to be close to everyone. I couldn't get close to everyone at some venues, so when we decided to perform at the additional Nonon, I wanted to go into the audience and sing. This wish came true, and the concert was a fitting finale to the tour.

─ There was a scene where you set up a small stage in the middle of the audience in the middle of the audience seats and stood on it, wasn't there?

May'n It was fun. I could see everyone really close to me.

──You have been busy since then, and on July 6, you performed at "Anisong World Matsuri at Anime Expo 2018 - Japan Super Live-" in Los Angeles.

May'n It had been four years since I had been to Los Angeles, and really eight years since I had attended Anime Expo. eight years ago, Yoko Kanno, Ai (Nakajima) and I were there for the "Macross F" concert. I have been singing "Diamond Crevasse" ever since then, and I was deeply moved to think that I am singing it alone now.

─ ─ I felt the same way at the Nogane concert, but Cheryl's songs are arranged differently at each live performance, and the range of her songs is expanding year by year.

May'n Sheryl Nome starring May'n, so technically speaking, I am not May'n, but these songs were my turning point and the beginning of May'n, so they are really important to me. For example, in the case of "Diamond Crevasse" for this tour, I had the outro of the song extended in the arrangement.

─ ─ It is amazing that the song is updated each time you sing it.

May'n I am happy that many people said that "Diamond Crevasse" was very good this time.

───And "Tenshi yo hometown wo kikika" (Hear my hometown, angels!), which was performed at the live concert at the Noge, will finally be released as a new single on August 8. This song is also the opening theme for the TV anime "Lord of Vermilion: King of the Red Lotus.

May'n For the past 10 years I have been working as May'n, and one of the songs I have sung has been one that utilizes my high tone voice, but I had a vague idea that I would like to sing a song that utilizes low tones in the future. When I heard about the tie-in with "Lord of Vermilion: King of the Red Lotus," I thought that low tones would be a good fit for this work. I felt that the key to the work was the passion and feelings that welled up inside me, so I decided to use a low-tone song this time.

─ ─ Low-toned songs have the power to push up from below, don't they?

May'n That's right. At the end of the chorus, I use a high tone, but in the A and B melodies, I think I was able to express the conflicts and inner passion in a low tone. I asked SALTY DOG to compose the music and express their strength and passion in the song, and then asked CHOKKAKU to arrange the music and create a solid digital sound. The song is a rock song, but I wanted to perform it live with dancers. I think we were able to bring out the May'n that I think of now.

─ It has a sound that doesn't fit into the loud rock genre.

May'n If I had to describe it in terms of genre, I would say it falls into the loud rock category, but it also has a digital appeal, making it a genreless piece of music. I have been working with Mr. CHOKKAKU for a long time, so I had a hunch that he would arrange the song in a way that would suit May'n's current style, That is exactly how the song turned out.
