Tokyo Game Show 2020 ONLINE" (hereinafter referred to as "TGS2020") is being held online for the first time ever for four days from September 24 (Thursday) to September 27 (Sunday), 2020. This is a report on Capcom's "CAPCOM Special Program," which was broadcast from 10:00 p.m. on the second day of the event.
Capcom announced several major titles just before the start of "TGS2020" and is considered to be the most high-profile of all the manufacturers exhibiting at the show. First to be introduced was "Resident Evil Village," the latest in the "Resident Evil" series, which was shown at the recent "PlayStation 5" launch event. Regarding the reason why Ethan and Chris, who were the main characters in the previous titles, are featured again, Mr. Kanda said, "When I made 7, I became quite attached to the main character Ethan, and I wanted to depict what happened to him when I made the next one.
As the title suggests, the setting of this work is a "village," but the village itself has an aspect of another main character. The game's beautiful and terrifying backgrounds, which challenge the limits of graphic expression, while maintaining the unique worldview of the Bio series, where mystery is the key to mystery, are also attracting attention.

The second half of the presentation was devoted to "Monster Hunter Rise" and "Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Doom" (both exclusively for Nintendo Switch), the latest titles in the "Monster Hunter" series. This talk was given by Tsujimoto, the producer of the two titles, and Ichinose, the director.
First, "Monster Hunter Rise" (scheduled for release on March 26, 2021), a new title in the MonHun series for the Switch, is set in a world with a somewhat "Japanese" feel, and is based on the Nintendo Switch's concept of "easy enjoyment anytime, anywhere, with anyone. The other title, "Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin," is an RPG based on the MonHun world. Players take on the role of "Monster Riders" and explore various worlds, with beautifully detailed graphics, a variety of monsters that appear in MonHun, and fascinating characters, among many other highlights. This one is scheduled for release in the summer of 2021. We look forward to seeing it.
