[TGS2020] Report on the program delivery of "Scarlet Nexus," a completely new game by Bandai Namco Entertainment x Bandai Namco Studios!

Tokyo Game Show 2020 ONLINE" (hereinafter referred to as "TGS2020") is being held online for the first time ever for four days from September 24 (Thursday) to September 27 (Sunday), 2020. The following is a report on the "SCARLET NEXUS" stage of NAMCO BANDAI Entertainment Inc. that was broadcast from 18:00 on the fourth day.

Scarlet Nexus" is an action RPG titled "Brain Punk," set in a country called New Himuka, where Yuto, Sumeragi, and their army of monster hunters fight against "monsters" that eat people's brains. The game is a completely new title, and several trailers have been released so far.

First, Mr. Iizuka explained about the completely new "Scarlet Nexus". With images, he revealed that the game is compatible with current consoles such as PS4 and Xbox One, as well as next-generation consoles such as PS5 and Xbox Series X, in addition to Steam.

He also mentioned the worldview. It was also revealed that the game takes place in "New Himuka," a world in the near future where brain science is extremely advanced, and that those with superior brains are called "super brainiacs," and that they can trigger various phenomena just by thinking.

The "kaiju" are the enemies of this work. They have existed since ancient times, falling from the sky and eating people's brains. Kaiju are a serious threat to humans and the cause of the world's devastation. Designed by Masakazu Yamashiro.

When Mr. Seto asked about the eerie "kaiju," a combination of feminine legs and a vase, Mr. Anabuki explained the design intent. The concept was to create a combination of organic and inorganic objects, like a combination of a human hand and a faucet, and the "Kaiju Defeat Force," to which the main character and Kasane belong, will be the ones to defeat this monster.

When asked about the origins of the novel worldview, Mr. Anabuki said, "I focused on the universally loved "Cyborg 009," where each member has a unique ability. We wanted to reconstruct this in a game, and from there, the element of super brain power emerged as a result of our efforts," he said. Mr. Enoki had played a bit with the actual device and said that there was also something like an acceleration device.

Next, the latest trailer for this work was shown. The main character is about to join the Kaiju Defeat Force, and the unique personalities of the Defeat Force could be seen, such as a member who hardens his arms to catch enemy attacks. From here, Mr. Iizuka went on to introduce the characters. He talked about the main character, Yuto Sumeragi, and other characters involved in the story, while also mentioning their fighting styles, including battle footage.

When asked about playing the main character, Enoki said that perhaps because Yuto Sumeragi is a rookie member, he was told to "not give off a strong vibe, but rather a sense of restlessness. According to Mr. Anabuki, Yuit has a background as a sergeant in a prominent family, but he did not wear that as a shield and acted naturally. He also said that the line used during the audition, "You can't just stand there and watch people die," left a lasting impression on him because Mr. Enoki was able to capture Yuit's feelings by stalling when he finished the line, "I can't just stand there and watch people die. Mr. Enoki himself seemed to be aware of this.

Yuit's battle scene. The main elements are slashes with a sword and special techniques using telekinesis. He also seems to be able to temporarily borrow the abilities of his companions.

Kasane Randall. She is an elite who graduated at the top of her class from a training school and was scouted by the Kaiju Defeat Force for her outstanding super-brain power. She has been considered the heroine of the film until now, but now it turns out that she will be the main character of the film alongside Yuito.

When discussing the topic of Kasane, Seto-san says, "I made a conscious effort not to show too much emotion. Ms. Anabuki commented, "The deciding factor was that her cool acting was natural and she came across as a life-size girl. Although Kasane has many strong lines, Ms. Seto's voice helped her to create the lines smoothly. After that, a new video about Kasane was shown. It depicted the encounter with Yuto from Kasane's point of view, giving a strong sense of the duality of the story.

Furthermore, Takumi Saneyajima, who worked on "Tales of Symphonia" and "Tales of the Abyss," was in charge of this story, and his comments were also shown.

A key visual, which was completed just before the show, was also revealed.
