ADV game "Re:Zero kara Hajimari no Isekai Seikatsu: False King Candidate" to be released on January 28, 2021 (Thursday)! Character Trailer & Game System Revealed!

Spike Chunsoft has announced that its upcoming PS4/Switch/PC (Steam) adventure game "Re:Zero kara Hajimari no Isekai Seikatsu: False King Candidate" will be released this winter on January 28, 2021 (Thursday). Both the packaged and downloadable versions will be priced at 7,980 yen (excluding tax).

Re:Zero kara Hajimeru to Isekai Seikatsu" is a novel by Tatsuhei Nagatsuki, the author of the original, which was serialized on the novel submission site "Shosetsu-ka Naro" in 2012 and published by the light novel label MF Bunko J (KADOKAWA) in 2014, and became a huge hit. The story of the main character, Natsuki Subaru, who is summoned to another world and uses his "return to death" power to turn back time upon his "death" to grow up while risking his life to protect those he cares about, and the attractive characters, including Subaru, have gained popularity. The second season of the TV anime began airing in July 2020.

Re:Zero kara Hajimari no Isekai Seikatsu: Nakaeri no Oushan Shikan" (Re: Zero kara Hajimari Isekai Seikatsu: False King's Choice), to be released this winter, is a tactical adventure game based on the story of the first TV anime season of "Re:Zero kara Hajimari Isekai Seikatsu" with an original story completely supervised by the original author, Tatsuhei Nagatsuki. The characters are designed by Shinichiro Otsuka, and "return to death," similar to the original story, is an important element of the game system.

<Adventure part
This is the part where the story progresses mainly through conversations.
The smooth animation of the characters and full voice-over will liven up the story.

<Transportation part

This is the part where the main character, Subaru, is controlled to collect items and information.
The player investigates characters and points on the map and collects items and information useful for the "mission".

<Briefing

This is the part where you and your fellow players plan how to proceed with the "mission.
Subaru will give his opinion based on the items and information obtained, and the actions of his friends in the "mission" will change.

<Mission

This is the part where Subaru and his friends take action to solve the difficulties that stand in front of them.
The player controls only Subaru, while his friends act on their own based on the strategy they have decided in the "Briefing".

＜Game Story
About a month has passed since Subaru's life in another world began. Suddenly, a messenger arrives to inform him that the king's election has been postponed. The reason for the postponement is unknown. Subaru and his friends start to move in response to the postponement of the big event to decide the next king. The investigation takes them to the capital for the first time in a long while.
The existence of the sixth candidate is revealed.
There are five candidates for the king's election, as recorded on the Ryu Rekiishi. Who is the fake? Emilia is the first to come under suspicion. Assassination, betrayal, and intrigue swirl around her. What is the unexpected ending that awaits at the end of the unpredictable development?
