Godzilla TV anime "Godzilla S.P. <Singular Point>" to be broadcast from next April! Kazue Kato's character draft for "Blue Exorcist" is also unveiled!

It was announced that a new animated series, "Godzilla: Singular Point," will begin airing in April 2021.

Since the first movie in 1954, many series have been produced and released, and "Godzilla" has become a major character that has gained popularity around the world. In recent years, "Shin Godzilla" (directed by Hideaki Anno), released in 2016, was a blockbuster hit, grossing 8.25 billion yen at the box office, and the Hollywood versions of "Godzilla Godzilla" (2014) and "Godzilla King of Monsters" (2019), both by Legendary Pictures in the U.S., have also been big hits in Japan and abroad. The character "Godzilla," born in the Showa era, continues to dominate the world in the Heisei era and even in this era of 2025.

In 2020, the production of a completely new TV animation series has been announced as a new "Godzilla" project. The title is "Godzilla: Singular Point," and it will be broadcast on TOKYO MX and other TV networks from April 2021, and distributed exclusively worldwide on Netflix.
The "Godzilla" trilogy, "Godzilla: Planet of the Monsters," "Battle in Mobile City," and "The Star Eater," were released in theaters in 2017 and 2018, but the new "Godzilla S.P." series is a weekly "TV anime. This new series "Godzilla S.P." will be a new original story that is completely different from the movie.

■Completely new work by a splendid staff!
The animation is produced by "BONES," the famous studio that has created numerous masterpieces such as "My Hero Academia," and "Orange," which has created high-quality CG animation such as "Jewel Land" and "BEASTARS," that sets itself apart from the rest. The film is a hybrid of hand-drawn animation and CG.

The director is Atsushi Takahashi, who directed "Doraemon the Movie: Nobita's Great Adventure in South Polar. The series composition and screenplay will be written by Enjotou, one of Japan's leading science fiction novelists and an Akutagawa Prize-winning author. The music is by Kan Sawada, who has created the "Wimpy Pedal" series and numerous "Doraemon the Movie" films.

The original character design is by Kazue Kato, author of "Blue Exorcist" serialized in "JUMP SQ. The talented artist, who has created many unique and attractive characters in "Blue Exorcist," has taken on the challenge of designing characters for an anime for the first time in her career. The monster design is by Eiji Yamamori, an animator who has participated in numerous Studio Ghibli productions, including "Princess Mononoke," "Spirited Away," and "The Wind Rises. The top-notch staff gathered for the characters and graphics, which are the heart and soul of the animation.

The comments from the staff, Kazue Kato's original character design drawings, and some of the Godzilla designs have also been released.

I saw an article in a magazine when I was a child that was looking for extras to be in a movie about people running away from Godzilla! I thought about how I could stand out among the crowd and came up with an acting plan. In the end, that dream didn't come true, but maybe this time my acting plan will finally pay off."
