Various information on the original TV anime "Akudama Drive," which will begin broadcasting and distribution today, October 8, 2020 (Thursday) at 23:30, has been released prior to the broadcast.

The original TV anime "Akudama Drive" depicts the story of bad guys who follow their own way of life with stylish images.
The story and character drafts for this work will be handled by Kazutake Odaka, scenario writer and representative of TooKyoGames, and Rui Komatsuzaki, character designer. The two, who have worked together on the "Danganronpa" game series, will join hands again for the animation.
The director is Tomohisa Taguchi, who worked on "Persona 4 the Golden" and the theater version of "Digimon Adventure: LAST EVOLUTION Kizuna. The animation production will be handled by studio Pierrot, which has produced the "Osomatsu-san" and "Tokyo Ghouls" series and is celebrating its 40th anniversary.

<Synopsis
A criminal called "Akudama" roams the streets of Kansai.
One day, an "ordinary person" who was leading a normal working life is arrested by the police due to an unfortunate misunderstanding.
Then, some Akudama receive a mysterious "request" that promises a huge reward.
The request is to rescue a "certain person" who is being held prisoner at the Kansai police station.

Crime action of "Akudama" criminals begins! A long time ago, a war broke out between Kantou and Kansai, and the world was divided. Kanthai became a dependency of Kantou, and developed its own unique culture. However, politics and police power declined, and crime became rampant. The criminals are called "Akudama.
The story takes place in a highly developed but distorted society. How do the Akudama try to be themselves in such a society? The aesthetics of the Akudama gathered in one place clash with each other.
