Commemorating the start of the third season! This is the only thing I want to keep in mind! A look back at the important characters and story of the anime "Golden Kamui

Golden Kamui" (serialized in "Weekly Young Jump", written by Satoru Noda) has finally started its third TV anime season. Here is a look back at the first and second anime seasons!

Golden Kamui" has been serialized in "Weekly Young Jump" by Satoru Noda since 2014 and won the Tezuka Osamu Cultural Award Manga Grand Prize in 2018, etc. The first TV anime season started in April 2018, and the second season aired in October of the same year, which also attracted a lot of attention.

On October 5, 2020 (Monday), the third season of the TV anime will finally begin, and fans have already voiced their excitement. The number of characters in this work has been increasing, but this time we will look back at the most important characters and points to remember from the first and second seasons of the anime.

⇒The third season of the fall anime "Golden Kamui" will start airing on October 5 (Monday)! The second PV and theme song information is also released!

The first season of the anime started with a survival battle over gold nuggets with Hijikata Toshizo and the 7th Army Division!

The story takes place in Hokkaido at the end of the Meiji Era. In the first season of the anime, the main character, Saichi Sugimoto (CV: Chikahiro Kobayashi), a former member of the Army's 1st Division, and an Ainu girl named Ashiㇼpa (CV: Haruka Shiraishi) meet and embark on a journey to find an Ainu gold nugget said to be hidden somewhere in Hokkaido.

Interestingly, the clue to the location of the gold nugget is tattooed on the prisoners by a "certain man. Since they all escaped from Abashiri Prison at the same time, those who want the gold must be the first to seek them out and get the "skins" for their tattoos.
Moreover, the escaped prisoners are all perverts, including a torture-crazed transvestite doctor and a man who gets off on imagining himself being killed. ...... In particular, the "Fugaku Zoology" story of a man whose love for animals went too far and the "Oyabun to Hime (Uncle)" story, which was said "it is impossible to make an anime", are included as bonus DVDs in the comics. The "Oyabun to Hime (Ojisan)" version is also available as a bonus DVD in the comics.

The group pursuing the escaped prisoners is made up of three main camps: Sugimoto & Ashiㇼpa, the Army's 7th Division, and Hijikata Toshizo's faction.

The main character, Saichi Sugimoto, a man known as "the immortal Sugimoto" who survived the harsh Russo-Japanese War, throws himself into the search for gold bars so that his wife, entrusted to him by a deceased childhood friend, can undergo surgery. He is a curious and manly man, but when it comes to combat, he has a habit of turning into a killing machine.
Sugimoto's partner is Ashiㇼpa, an Ainu girl who rescued Sugimoto from a bear. Her survival skills, including her knowledge of hunting and the mountains, are beyond that of an adult! Her father is believed to have been killed over a gold nugget, and she accompanies Sugimoto to ascertain the truth.

The two travel while enjoying Ainu delicacies and getting tipsy on cute animals (which they later eat), but one of their strongest enemies is Lieutenant Tsurumi (CV. Hochu Otsuka) of the Army's 7th Division, who stands in their way. ...... Although he appears to be a gentleman, he is an eccentric character who bites off his boss's finger when he loses his temper.
Sugimoto was detained by Tsurumi, but managed to escape with the help of Yutake Shiraishi (CV. Kentaro Ito), a prison break king he met on the mountain. Since then, he has been targeted by the 7th Division ever since.

Another strong opponent is former Shinsengumi member Hijikata Toshizo (CV. Nakata Joji). In anime and manga works, Hijikata Toshizo is often portrayed as a young man, but in this work, he appears as an old man, saying that he was actually imprisoned in Abashiri Prison for a long time and lived. He is dressed in Western-style clothing, wielding a gun and sword, and riding a horse! The first season of the anime featured 24 prisoners.

In the first season of the anime, of the 24 prisoners, Sugimoto & Ashiㇼpa got 5 tattoos and Hijikata's group got 6 tattoos. The only way to get them all is to kill each other or join forces. ......?

Furthermore, at the end of the first period, it emerged that Ashiㇼpa's father may actually be the man who took the gold and dug the tattoos on the prisoners. In order to meet the man known as "Nophelabo," Sugimoto and his friends head to Abashiri Prison, where he was imprisoned.

In the second season, enemies and allies gather at Abashiri Prison! Unexpectedly, there is also a traitor...⁉

The second season is a story that leads to the Abashiri Prison. The relationships between the characters will become more complicated, but let's keep two points in mind here.
(Actually, there are many interesting parts that I would like to introduce, such as the "naked gunfight" and the "lusty men's sumo tournament. ...... Please enjoy those in the full-length anime!)

First, Sugimoto and Hijikata, who are rivals, and Hyakunosuke Ogata (CV. Kenjiro Tsuda), the skilled sniper who betrayed Lt. Tsurumi, join forces. Sugimoto and his group decided that it would be wise to join forces after realizing that Lt. Tsurumi was about to distribute fake tattoo skins.

In particular, Ogata, who had won second place in the official popular character poll for his mysteriousness, became a regular member of the team, which was "just what we were waiting for! I've been waiting for that! He and Sugimoto fight together while exchanging hateful remarks and seem to have become friends. ...... He does a good job in the end.
(Incidentally, there is a very exciting episode called "Ibarado no yoshinbou" where Ogata vs Hijikata battle the whole town, but due to Ogata's popularity, it was not broadcast as an anime but as a bonus DVD in the 15th volume of the comic book).

The second point is the "Abashiri Prison Infiltration" episode, in which Nokpeirabo goes to see if he is Ashiㇼpa's father. When Sugimoto, Hijikata, and others sneak into Abashiri Prison with a large group of "maybe a little too many people⁉", Lt. Tsurumi and others on a destroyer also gather... "Secure Noppelabo! The scene where the prisoners and the military engage in a huge battle with violent music is also the most exciting.

However, from this point on, the clouds began to cloud over in a different way.

Hijikata betrays Sugimoto and takes out Ashiㇼpa to get a hint of the gold. Sugimoto, on the other hand, manages to meet Nokpeirabo, but a gunshot from the roof hits them both!
Ashiㇼpa and Sugimoto are separated from each other. Furthermore, another traitor sneaks up on Asiㇼpa.

Is Sugimoto really alive and who is the traitor? The third season of the anime about Kabata's journey will surely be the most spectacular yet! It is available on FOD and other subs, so be sure to enjoy it along with the first & second seasons.
(How much of the perverted times and nudity will be aired uncut? )
