We want you to feel the Princess's "passion for sleep"! Interview with Inori Minase, who plays Princess Suyaris in the 2020 fall anime "Good Night at the Devil's Castle" and photogravure!

The popular sleep fantasy comedy "Good Night at the Demon King's Castle" by Kagitsugu Kumanomata, serialized in "Weekly Shōnen Sunday" (Shogakukan), will begin TV animation broadcast on October 5, 2020.

The character of Princess Suyaris, a princess of the Kaimeen Kingdom who falls asleep anywhere, is played by Inori Minase, "Princess Suyaris of the voice actress world (?)," who says, "I fall asleep easily even on buses and trains. She is the "Princess Suyaris of the voice actress world" (?) who says, "I fall asleep easily on buses and trains. We asked her to talk about the charms of the original work and the anime. Please enjoy the interview along with the photos taken during the interview!

Don't miss "Suyaa...", which was created from a very particular retake of the song!

Mizuse: The title "Good Night at the Devil's Castle" gave me a sense of anticipation for what kind of story it would be. Princess Suyaris appears on the cover of every volume of the comic, and I picked it up thinking that she looked somewhat relaxed even though she was trapped in the Demon King's castle, and that the cover didn't give me any sense of SOS. As I expected, Princess Suyaris is trying to make her prison a space where she can sleep comfortably and peacefully, and the gap between the demons who are at her mercy is adorable.

Q: It was more of a comedy than I expected.

Mizuse: It was a comedy throughout the entire film, with the occasional serious turn of events! They were monsters, and the princess was a captive. It's a nice contrast (laughs).

I thought she was a very crazy princess myself (laughs).

Mizuse: I thought the monsters around her were actually being controlled by her. The balance of power is so strange that I think the monsters around her are actually being overpowered by her (laughs).

Laughs] I heard that the role of Princess Yaris was decided by audition.

Mizuse: She is a princess, but she also sleeps. In a sense, she is inertia or corruption, so I thought of it as a play that relaxes her. However, Princess Suyaris is a girl who is driven by her desire for a good night's sleep, so she is also a surprisingly active girl. So during the audition, I was told not to be too much of a downer. But in addition to that, I was directed to have a voice with the grace of a princess.

So, for me, I was already lost. I don't know! (laughs). (Laughs) I completely lost track of Suyaris in my head, and I finished the project in a state of anxiety. Then later, when the manager told me that Princess Suyaris had been accepted, I said, "Which one?" And.

Q: So you didn't know which of the Suyaris Hime you did was good (laughs).

(laughs) Mizuse: That's right! I wondered which Princess Souyalis I had done and which one was said to me, "This one! I was waiting for the postrecording of the first episode, wondering which Princess Suyaris I should have been told "this one! I should have been very happy, but I was a bit nervous about the first episode after receiving the news that I had passed the test, so I was more like "Okay, I'm going to do it! I wanted to see the director right away! I wanted to meet the director right away!

Q: There is quite a long time between the audition and the post recording, isn't there?

Mizuse: That's why I was so nervous. I remember going to the studio thinking, "What if I drag everyone down? But in the end, we took the time to perform various patterns and carefully created the characters, and finally we were able to settle on this level of tension.

Q: What kind of Princess Suyaris did you end up creating?

Mizuse: My initial performance was neutral, and when I pushed too hard, it sounded like I was trying to be a boy in places, so I tried to make her cute and dainty. No matter how much I went off the rails, I was careful to keep my performance "strong and graceful.

Princess Surya has an unusual obsession with sleep.

Mizuse I am particular about sleeping with a pillow custom-made by myself, but I have come to think that sleep that doesn't go against ...... sleepiness is the most comfortable. Isn't sleep that sleeps when you are sleepy the best?

When I had more time at home, it was like going home in the evening or taking the evening off and only doing things at night, but then I discovered how good naps and evenings felt, and I thought I might not be able to get out of this. Changing into pajamas and sleeping in a futon is fine, but I thought it would be best to doze off on the sofa with the air conditioning blowing and the sound of my mother cooking dinner as background music when I would hear the evening chimes coming from outside! I thought that would be great.

Q: It feels good to fall asleep in a slightly immoral environment, doesn't it?

Mizuse: I know I shouldn't do that. There are things I should do, but it feels good to put them aside and surrender myself to them (laughs). When I sleep on the sofa, I cover myself with a large bath towel, which is also nice! I like that it's not a comforter! I have found a new joy. ......

Q: So, you are perfect for the role.

Mizuse: Yes, it is. That's why that "Suyaa..." was so nice to play. I feel like I am falling asleep with her, and it soothes me.

Q: Did you have any direction for the sleeping breath and the "Suyaa..."?

Mizuse: Yes, I did. When we recorded the first episode, we did many retakes of "Suyaa...". At first, I said "Suyaa..." without raising the tension too much, but director Mitsue Yamazaki directed me to "try raising the end of the word," which I did. I did exactly that, and she said, "That's good! I did exactly that, and he said, "That's good!" He told me, "Don't forget this next time. So that was the end, or rather, the signal that I had slept peacefully.

I remember that you appeared once in director Mitsue Yamazaki's film, "Tada-kun wa Koi-no-shite" (Tada-kun Doesn't Fall in Love).

Mizuse: Yes. Both this time and last time, we had the same stable lineup of director Yamazaki and Animation Studio. Director Yamazaki is also the sound director, and I felt comfortable with the director's willingness to do retakes of my plays. I enjoyed working in this environment, where I was able to make the plays as close to the director's vision as possible, and I felt I was getting a good response.

This time, due to the effects of the new coronavirus, some episodes were recorded in prescreening in the second half, so we were able to work with a lot of spontaneity. Director Yamazaki left some of the work to us, but he was very persistent in the important scenes and places of particular interest.

The strong performances of the co-stars are also noteworthy.

I'm looking forward to seeing the director's comedic direction. The characters in "Good Night at the Devil's Castle" are also very unique, so I hope you will introduce them as well.

Mizuse: Everyone is talking, reacting, and yelling, as if to cover up the many monologues of the princess. It's like a group of happy friends who are swept away by the freedom of Princess Sjaris.

Sadayuki Matsuoka, who plays the role of the demon king Tasogare, wrote in his comment, "He is surprisingly pure-hearted and funny. You are surprisingly pure-hearted and funny.

Mizuse: That's right! The Demon King is pure.

He is pure. He is pure towards everyone, but Princess Sjaris is very close to him, and he is very suggestive. So, she would be like, "Oh, kyun! So, I think the fact that he is being dropped by the princess is also a point to pay attention to. It's also cute that he is unaware of it.

Q: What did you think of Matsuoka's performance?

Mizuse: He was already going wild (laughs). (Laughs.) He even said "a little too much," which I thought was very typical of him.

Kaito Ishikawa plays the role of "Akuma Shudo," a man who would be in trouble if Princess Suryaith did not have him.

Minase: I don't think I've seen Mr. Ishikawa in such a gentle, gentle role, so it was refreshing to see him in a role like this when we worked together. As you said, the role is very important for Princess Suyaris in terms of relationship, and I think the relationship between the two of them will become a habit for the audience.

The profile sentence, "He magically resurrects the dead who appear in the Demon King's castle." That's an interesting profile sentence, isn't it?

Mizuse: That's right! Without him, the dead cannot be revived.

How about the hero Akatsuki played by Hiro Shimono?

Mizuse: The hero in the princess has a rather hazy memory (laughs). (Laughs) I pity him, but he is also a brave man who is fighting to defeat the Demon King, and in a sense, he is fighting with his country on his shoulders, so he is very serious about it. So the love triangle between the hero, the Demon King, and the princess between them is a must-see. And it was refreshing to see Mr. Shimono being so passionate.

I also want you to pay attention to the sneezes on the human kingdom side. They sneeze a little differently, like a "punyun" sneeze. I imitated Shimono-san, who was recording first, so expect to see a very cute sneeze!

Rikiya Koyama plays the role of "Haritoge Majiro.

Mizuse: Rikiya-san's performance really brings out the best in him, and makes the characters of the "Majojo" team even more intense. The character has a "good old man" feel to him, which makes him very addictive. The way he gets into a temper tantrum, I think he oozes the feeling that he must be a very nice person.

Q: Who plays the role of "Debyakuma" who was holding the camera during today's shooting?

Mizuse: This may not be credited, but it is played by myself and Saori Hayami. When there are several of them, we lay on different sounds many times, so it is surprisingly hard work.

Q: Are there any other characters you would like people to pay attention to?

Mizuse: Right now, the Red Siberian Kai is really exciting (laughs). (Laughs.) I was struck by the gap between his large size and his small, easy-going personality. ...... He is a loyal character who has an eye for the small things, is extremely serious, and is quick to believe in things. Is this what we call a loyal dog? I thought so, and I would like to take a walk with him.

There are many other characters in the Demon King's Castle, and we have many more guests who will be playing them, so I hope you will pay attention to them as well.

And the OP theme, "Sleep Well! Sleep soundly! Souyarist Life" is sung by Princess Souyaris, isn't it?

Mizuse It is a song filled with her enormous amount of dreams, hopes and happiness, like parading around the castle in search of a better sleep and turning the whole castle into bedding. So, rather than delivering something to the listeners, it is just a song about her search for a good night's sleep in this song. Anyway, let people feel her thoughts and passion for sleep, and let's have a good night's sleep together.

ーWe are looking forward to the song as well. Finally, do you have a message for your fans?

Mizuse: Hime is passionate about sleep, and I hope that through Hime, you can feel her passion and greed for something. I am sure that there is something in you that you cannot give up, but Hime vividly shows you how hard she is willing to work for it, and I would be happy if you would think about trying harder to do what you want to do... But.... After all, isn't that what this princess can do? (laughs).

However, I think this work is very addictive in the sense that it does not choose any means to achieve its goal, so if you want to be pushed around by the princess along with the demons, I would like you to watch this work. I hope that you will enjoy it with a lot of sympathy and love for the demons who were victimized by the princess, thinking, "I really feel sorry for these children.

And after watching it, let's go to sleep together "Suyaa...". Thank you very much!
