Pushing aside a number of major and popular sequels, the dark horse of the list, "Houkago Teibo Nisshi," a daily comedy about high school girls, unexpectedly took first place. Set in a seaside town in Kyushu, the story is about the main character, Hina Tsurugi, a high school student who has never fished before, but joins the Teibo club and discovers the joys of fishing. At first glance, one might think it was a "Kirara-kei" work by Houbunsha, but in fact, it is an unusual work that is serialized in the youth magazine "Young Champion Isetsu. It is a very useful work not only for those who like fishing but also for beginners. The members of the Teibo club are all very individualistic and friendly, and combined with the heartwarming scenery of a country town in Kyushu, many people found it a welcome respite from the hardships of this summer. In the "What will you watch next season? Summer Anime Popularity Poll! it was a dark horse work that did not even make the top 10, but when it was over, it turned out to be a really heartwarming and good piece of work.

This work is a part of the media mix project of the same name by KLab Games and KADOKAWA, and it is a work with "magic" and "idols," both of which seem to be a standard in recent anime. The theme of this work is "magic" and "idols," which seems to be a standard theme in recent anime. Before it aired, many wondered how the story would unfold, but once it started, the ups and downs of the story, the cute characters, the detailed drawings, and the greatest weapon of all, the music, all added up to a story that won the hearts and minds of many fans. The addition of music, which is the greatest weapon of the series, has captured the hearts of many fans. As a media mix project, it is also being developed as a game, comic, and live performance, and we can look forward to its future development.

While these two works are completely new anime productions, "SWORD ART ONLINE ARISATION: War of Underworld 2nd Cool," one of this season's major sequels, came in at No. 3. Among the overwhelmingly popular "Sword Art Online (SAO)" series, "Arisゼーション" is said to be the most voluminous and complicated story. Since this is the final cool episode of the series, it was ranked number one in terms of expectations in advance. Of course, it was a wonderful work and fans' satisfaction was high enough, but it was broadcast under the special circumstances of the Corona disaster, so it may be that the warm-heartedness of the first- and second-ranked works above was more popular than the serious storyline of this work. This may be the reason why the warm-heartedness of the first- and second-ranked films above was more popular than the serious storyline of this film.

Looking at the lineup from No. 4 and below, while relatively serious works were lower in the rankings than previously expected, comedies and works with a heartwarming world view were higher in the rankings. For example, "Haxon Daimao 2020" at No. 5 and"Uzaki-chan Wanna Play!and "Fruits Basket 2nd season" (No. 8) are representative of this trend. All of these works are enjoyable without any logic, and seem to have provided a kind of refreshment for viewers who have been somewhat stressed out by the Corona disaster. The so-called "Ore TUEEE" series, "The Unconformist of the Academy of Demon Kings: The Founder of the Strongest Demon King in History Reincarnates and Attends a School for His Descendants," was also ranked 9th (7th in terms of prior popularity), and it is thought that its ease of viewing without stress was also a factor in its popularity.

In contrast, sequels to major works, which ranked high in terms of prior popularity, dropped in overall ranking .( No. 2 in the prior popularity list) and "Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu (The SecondSeason)" ( No. 4 in the prior popularity list), which dropped in the rankings. However, the fact that the development of the series was somewhat serious or difficult may have influenced the fact that it could not be viewed casually among the Corona Disaster series. In particular, "Re: Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu (The Second Season)," which came in at No. 10, may have been shunned for its overly serious development. However, this work has not yet been completed, so its evaluation as a final work will have to wait.

Amidst this chaotic situation, "Decadence" (No. 7) did relatively well. It was a completely new animated film with a rather complicated parallel world setting, so it was a work for a select audience, but it gained popularity as a solid science fiction work and ended well.
