After 25 years, "Sailor Moon Eternal" will be released in two parts in 2021, the first part on January 8 (Friday) and the second part on February 11 (Thursday, national holiday). Nanao has been cast in this much-talked-about film.

She has played the role of a "cool woman" and a "legitimate heroine" in the dramas "BG" and "4 Minutes of Marigold," as well as in the movies "Gintama" and "Otaku ni Koi wa Hanaku ni" (It's Difficult to Fall in Love as an Otaku). In the movie "Gintama" and "Otaku ni Koi wa Haku wa Difficult," Nanao plays a wide range of roles and is active in a variety of fields, including a glimpse of her comedic side. In addition to her work as an actress, she has also appeared in high-profile films as a voice actor, such as playing Shank in "Sugar Rush: Online" and Bakara in "One Piece Film Gold". It has been decided that Ms. Nanao will appear in the theatrical version of "Sailor Moon Eternal" as Nehellenia.

Nehellenia, played by Nanao, is the Queen of the New Moon, who is bent on conquering the Earth and Moon, and is after the phantom silver crystal that Sailor Moon possesses. A beautiful and bewitching character, she uses her minion Zirconia (played by Naomi Watanabe) to stand in the way of the Sailor Senshi. Ms. Nanao is very excited to be cast in "Sailor Moon," a character she has admired since she was a child when she was "playing" with the character. Nowadays, she is known as a "9-headed beauty" with the "strongest" style, and she will be appearing in the world of "Sailor Moon," which she says she admired in her childhood because of the beauty of the warriors' styles, in a bewitching and powerful "New Moon" role. She plays the role of "Nehellenia, Queen of the New Moon" in the world of "Sailor Moon," which she admired in her childhood.

In addition, the poster and trailer for the film have finally been released! Super Sailor Moon and Super Sailor Chibi Moon, illuminated by the moonlight, and their protectors, Super Sailor Mercury, Super Sailor Mars, Super Sailor Jupiter, and Super Sailor Venus, are strongly and beautifully portrayed with the expressions of their determination as warriors. The visuals are filled with the longing and crush of those days, with the copy "We will always 'dream' again and again.

The trailer depicts the conflict and determination of the Sailor Senshi. Is it really my happiness to continue fighting as a warrior, or is my mission as a warrior really my dream? Be sure to enjoy the strong and beautiful Sailor Senshi in the theater as they overcome their destiny and grow while being caught up in a new battle with the Dead Moon Circus.

Cast Comments

Nanao as Nehellenia
I was really excited and happy to be cast in "Sailor Moon," which I have been watching for a long time! When I was little, I used to imitate Sailor Moon's hairstyle and play with her, and I loved Sailor Moon so much that I would never give up the role of Sailor Moon. Because I loved Sailor Moon so much, I was anxious and conflicted at the same time, so I read the original story and watched the 90s TV anime series again and again. I also practiced vocally, thought about how to say things, and practiced at home before recording the scene. I played Nehellenia, the Queen of the New Moon and the last boss of the film. I imagined her to be mysterious and bewitching, and I was conscious of how I could make her more and more powerful by increasing and decreasing the degree of villainy toward the climax scene. As the story progresses, I think Nehellenia becomes more villainous, so please pay attention to her! In this film, I was moved by the Sailor Senshi's struggles and the way they face themselves. Each line of the film is littered with things that we are reminded of now that we are adults, so I hope you will not miss a single moment of the film.

Producer's Comment
Fumio Osano, Senior Producer
Nehellenia, who is also the last boss in the series, is one of the most beautiful and bewitching villains in "Sailor Moon". We wondered who could play the role of the "Queen of the New Moon" who stands in front of the Sailor Senshi and who could also persuade Zirconia and her Dead Moon Circus to follow her.
I knew that Ms. Nanao herself is a fan of Sailor Moon, and when I saw the photos of her cosplaying on Halloween, I was shocked to see that someone could recreate the style of the Sailor Senshi...! I was shocked.
During the postrecording, I got goosebumps as the mysterious beauty of the first half of the performance turned into a more and more devilish performance in the second half. I got goosebumps as the mysterious beauty of the first half of the scene gave way to a more and more devilish performance in the second half, which gave me goosebumps.
