Editorial Review] The jet-black Shinkansen, which looks cool both displayed side by side and combined, is ready to go! The Akiba Research Institute editorial staff built the plastic kit "MODEROID Black Shinkarion!

The editorial staff of Akiba Research Institute has built the plastic kit "MODEROID Black Shinkarion" released by Good Smile Company at the end of September 2020!

So, it's been a while since our editorial staff member A tried his hand at a plastic model kit review!

Black Shinkarion" is a robot that appears in the TV anime "Shinkansen Transforming Robot Shinkarion," which aired from 2018 to 2019, and is an enemy robot that forms a counterpart to the main character side "Shinkarion.

In this work in which a real bullet train transforms into a robot, "Black Shinkarion" is an irregular existence in that it is a fictional bullet train that transforms, but it combines with a dragon whose intermediate car has transformed. It is a popular robot that has a presence worthy of being called a rival in that it has several forms, including "Berserker Mode," in which it powers up to its strongest form, and "Dragoon Mode," in which Black Shinkarion's upper body is combined with the dragon's back.

The "Black Shinkarion" is now available in the "MODEROID" series! In the "MODEROID" series, which has an established reputation for its intricate workmanship, how has Black Shinkarion "super-evolved! How did Black Shinkarion "super-evolve"?

Akiba Research Institute is currently running a "MODEROID Black Shinkarion" present campaign! Please check the following link for details.

First of all, I put it together straight!

First, let's take a look at it from the box.

BANG! The package depicts "Shinkarion Berserker Mode" in a cool pose. Just looking at the box art makes me excited.

Next, let's open the box.

In addition to the regular Shinkarion, a dragon is also included, so the number of runners is quite large.

This makes my arms flail!

So, the Black Shinkarion was quickly completed.

It took me about 2 hours to complete it.

I was surprised at how well it turned out without stickers!

The face parts, pink lines, etc. are painted in great detail, which is very nice for those who like to assemble the figure without stickers.

The edges of each part are also very sharp.

Gold parts are reproduced in molded colors. Weld lines (wavy lines that occur during the plastic molding process) are hardly noticeable.

If you want a more realistic finish, you may want to paint just this part with gold metallic color before assembling.

Decided to use two dark kaisatsu swords!

Next is the dragon.

The body of this figure is a transformed intermediate car of the Shinkansen, so the combination of the Shinkansen-like body and the head and neck, which give the figure a biological feel, is very interesting.

The figure can be displayed on the included stand.

This dragon. There is a hole in the back for a stand, so you can display it with Black Shinkarion on it.

And the upper and lower body of Black Shinkarion can be separated. Attach the attachment to the upper body and dock it to the dragon's back, and it will enter "Dragoon Mode.

When the "Dark Shirin Drill" on the tail is held, it becomes somewhat fantastical.

In addition, you can combine the parts on the tips of the dragon's wings to make the "Dark Fumikiri Shriken" .......

There are plenty of weapon parts to play with.

Next, let's wait!

Black Shinkarion Berserker Mode!

It took me about 4 hours to get to this point.

This mode is completed by removing the parts of the dragon and merging it into Black Shinkarion, and it is a large volume filled with dignity, worthy of being called the strongest.

The back of the figure also has this amount of information!

The stand can be used to create dynamic poses.

Once again, the figure is finished even when unassembled!

Add stickers for even more detail!

While the "Black Shinkarion" looks cool just assembled straight, you can also add stickers to further enhance the quality of the figure.

This product comes with two types of stickers: "Group A" stickers for those who can easily reproduce the image of the aircraft, and "Group B" stickers for those who want to add even more detail.

Those who want a quick finish can use only "Group A" stickers, while those who want a more detailed finish can use "Group B" stickers. And for those who want more precision, the smudging is available at ....... I am glad that the design is tailored to the user's skills and particular needs.

So this time, I even tried the "Group B" seal.

It is more informative and powerful.

In particular, the increased number of pink lines in the insert color and the perfect color coding of the dark missile pods on the legs have made the undercarriage look much more massive.

Also, the plastic surface has a semi-glossy finish, so it doesn't look too toy-like. It looks like a kit for adult Shinkarion fans.

Incidentally, the mouth (?) of the bullet train on its chest also opens. The mouth of the bullet train on its chest (?) can also be opened, and the special move "Hell Grand Cross" can be reproduced.

It can also be displayed standing on a stand. ......

You can also stand her on a stand!

In Berserker mode, it is surprising that the figure has enough range of motion to stand on its knees!

This is a pose not seen in the movie, but thanks to this range of motion, it looks like it will allow for a lot of freedom in posing.

Let's take a look at the regular Black Shinkarion and Dragon.

The Shinkarion is complemented by stickers on the gold parts at the base of the thighs and on the lines on the back.

The Dragon has pink stickers in its eyes, giving it more eye appeal.

Dragoon mode is also shown!

In addition to the grip hands, this product comes with flat hands and special hand parts for the Dark Fumikiri Shuriken. You can replace them depending on the situation.

One point to remember when assembling

Although it is written in the assembly manual, some parts are recommended to be fixed with adhesives.

The recommended parts not mentioned in the instruction manual are the cheek parts of the head and the side parts of the legs.

These parts will be detached from the top when the figure merges into Berserker mode, so it may be better to glue them in place for ease of play. Of course, this will not prevent you from playing with the combined figure, so don't worry.

So, here we have assembled "Black Shinkarion," one of the most popular robots in the "Shinkarion" series.

It is extremely cool just to assemble it according to the instructions, but the high play value of being able to combine and recombine robots is also worthy of special mention.

This is a masterpiece of plastic modeling that should be assembled by all robot lovers! Black Shinkarion" is recommended for long autumn nights!
