Legendary robot anime by Hideaki Anno, "Aim for the Top! OVA will be released in theaters from Friday, November 27, 2012!

Hideaki Anno's first film "Aim for the Top! OVA, the first work directed by Hideaki Anno, will be released in theaters.

Aim for the Top! is a groundbreaking animation that combines the completely different elements of a beautiful girl, a giant robot, and a sports fanatic in a single work, and was produced and released as an OVA (original video animation sold as video software) of six episodes from 1988 to 1989. The animation was produced by GAINAX, an up-and-coming company at the time. It was the first commercial work directed by Anno Hideaki, later known for the "Evangelion" series.

The worldview based on the theory of relativity, the Urasima Effect, and other authentic science fiction settings became an attractive feature of the film, which won the 21st (1990) Nebula Award in the Media Division. This work, created by director Hideaki Anno and many other super creators who support the current animation industry, is still talked about as a legendary work of ultimate entertainment animation even after 32 years.

It has been 32 years since the release of the original video animation (OVA). Now, the theatrical release of all six episodes of "Aim for the Top! In 2006, "Aim for the Top!" and its sequel "Aim for the Top 2!" were re-edited and released in theaters, and now the original six episodes are being released in their entirety.

The six OVA episodes will be divided into Part 1 (Episodes 1-4) and Part 2 (Episodes 5-6).
The first part (episodes 1-4) and the second part (episodes 5-6) will be shown in two separate episodes.

<Synopsis>.
The year is 2015. The Lucumon fleet, navigating in the Cygnus constellation, is annihilated when a mysterious space monster attacks.
Fifteen years later, a space pilot training school "Okinawa Girls Space High School" was established in Okinawa to prepare for the attack of the space monster.
Among the students was Takaya Noriko, daughter of the captain of the "Rukusuon".
