Minori Chihara and Minoru Shiraishi will tour the sacred places of "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya! Remote Travel & Real Talk in Itsukizawa Sakura Town, will be held!

The Anime Tourism Association, in collaboration with Cool Japan Travel Co., Ltd. and KADOKAWA Co., Ltd. will hold an event on Saturday, December 19, 2020, "Exploring Haruhi Suzumiya: The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya" with Minori Chihara and Minoru Shiraishi in Nishinomiya, the anime holy land of "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya: Remote Travel & Real Talk in ところ The event will be held at Nishinomiya.


Minori Chihara, the voice actress who played the role of Yuki Nagato, and Minoru Shiraishi, the voice actress who played the role of Taniguchi in the anime "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya," visited Nishinomiya City and Kobe City in Hyogo Prefecture, which were selected as "Anime Holy Land 88" for this work, to film the event in advance. He will hold a talk event in which he will show footage of the location shoots and talk about episodes from the time the anime was broadcast and during the location shoots.

Musician Junichi Sato will participate in this talk event as a representative of the fans of the work. Atsushi Ito (KADOKAWA Co., Ltd.), the producer of the anime, will navigate the sacred anime locations and serve as the talk event's moderator.

The event will be held at the "Japan Pavilion Hall A" event hall in Tokorozawa Sakura Town (Tokorozawa City), which had its grand opening on November 6, 2020, in two sessions: a daytime session (starting at 2:00 pm) and an evening session (starting at 5:30 pm). The hall is equipped with state-of-the-art air-conditioning equipment, and the event will be held under the strictest three-tightness measures.


Limited-quantity goods and one-day bus tours will also be available!
At the event venue, a limited number of goods created to commemorate the event will be available for sale. Bookmarks with special offers to enjoy a tour of Tokorozawa Sakura Town, valid only on the day of the event, will also be distributed. Cool Japan Travel Co., Ltd. will offer a one-day bus tour to/from Tokyo Station. This tour is also available through the Go To Travel Campaign.

Online tickets are also available!
For those who cannot make it to the venue on the day of the event or for fans who are far away, tickets for online viewing via ZOOM will be available as a new trial this time. Tickets that include not only viewing but also merchandise will also be available.


As it is difficult these days to enjoy a casual trip to a sacred place of anime, we hope that everyone attending the event will enhance their travel experience by "remote traveling" to enjoy the images of the sacred anime sites with Ms. Chihara and Mr. Shiraishi, and that they will eventually visit the sites with their own "love for Haruhi" in their hearts.
