A live performance to connect to a new dream beyond the return to the starting point! BanG Dream! 8th☆Live "Breakthrough!
Bandolier! BanG Dream! 8th☆LIVE "Breakthrough!" was held at the Tokyo Garden Theater on October 8-9, 2020. This report focuses on DAY1 "Kira Kira☆Festa Day!
Poppin'Party, Aimi (Gt. & Vo.) playing the role of Kasumi Toyama, Sae Otsuka (Gt.) playing the role of Tae Hanazono, Rimi Nishimoto (Ba.) playing the role of Rimi Ushigome, Ayaka Ohashi (Dr.) playing the role of Saya Yamabuki, and Ayasa Ito (Key) playing the role of Arisaki Ichigaya performed at this live. They performed.
In 2019, as a "training period," the group will travel around Japan on the "Poppin'Party Fan Meeting Tour 2019!" and participate in numerous music festivals, including "rockin'on presents ROCK IN JAPAN FESTIVAL 2019" and "COUNTDOWN JAPAN 19/ This year, due to the self-restraint from holding live performances related to the new coronavirus, Poppin'Party's solo live performance as Poppin'Party will not be held until February 2019 at TOKYO MX Presents "BanG Dream 7th☆LIVE" DAY3: Poppin'Party "Jumpin' Music♪" in February 2019.
It was also the first day of Poppipa's first 2-DAYS live performance. The day before, a new band, Morfonica, had held their 1st live at Tokyo Garden Theater, so it was a relay from the newest band to the first band of "Bandoli-! The opening performance was a relay from the newest band to the first band.
The opening of the event started with a video that looked back on the steps POPIPA had taken since last year. Aimi, who appeared in the documentary-style video, said, "The stage is full of Poppipa now and Poppipa in the future," and "Poppipa is amazing now. The stage was covered with a white curtain so that the audience could not see the stage directly. The stage was covered with a large screen showing Poppin'Party preparing for their live performance with the word "LIVE" on the screen. The image was full of realism, conveying the quiet elation of the five members as they adjusted their instruments and prepared for their first solo live performance in a long time.
The first song, "Breakthrough! The costumes were worn by Poppin'Party in the anime "BanG Dream! 3rd Season," and by Bandli! Girls Band Challenge's Budokan live performance, and Ayasa Ito expressed, "I think the costumes make me a big sister. Ayaka Ohashi expressed, "I think the costume made me a big sister. Each member of the band had their own detailed differences, including Ayaka Ohashi's ankle-length slim pants with a decorative skirt. After finishing the song, Aimi exclaimed, "Poppipa, returns! and showed her invincible smile.
Tokimeki Experience! is the opening theme of the TV anime "BanG Dream! (1st season). The important song was expressed with the current technology along with the opening image of the anime. The song was connected to "Kizuna Music♪", the opening theme of the "BanG Dream! 2nd Season" anime. This song was also performed with the anime images.
After watching the three opening songs of Day 1, I felt that today's five dancers did not perform many flashy actions. Yet, every gesture, every posture, and every lingering movement was very cool. They seemed confident in their solid technique and stability, and I could sense their growth as a band.
In the first MC session, they focused on the fact that it had been a while since their last live performance. They talked about the fact that it was their first one-man show in a year and eight months, Poppipa's first 2-DAYS, and that they were taking over the baton from Morfonica.
During "Poppin' Shuffle," Ohashi switched to standing drums. Mr. Ohashi showed a danceable drum performance while stepping on the drums, inviting the audience to clap along with his fun-filled performance. Keyboardist Mr. Ito also joined the front row, and the five of them played side by side.
The five members playing side by side seemed to be a recreation of Poppin'Party from the anime projected on the screen, and the high level of synchronicity was evident. The five members playing side by side seemed to recreate the image of Poppin'Party from the anime projected on the screen, giving the song a highly synchronized feel. For "Initial," the screen was divided into two. The expression of the soloists singing the solo part is displayed in black and white on the front and back of the screen, giving the impression that the singing voices are linked together. The silhouette of Mr. Nishimoto holding his bass guitar in a low position is cool.
Returns," which closed the first half of the show, was performed in a mature atmosphere in blue light. Aimi's gentle voice took on a somewhat wistful tinge as the song increased in speed. The video clip that played along with the heart-wrenching song, as if picking up the precious past, showed a scene from the first season of the anime "Clive" (live performance at the warehouse), which reminded me of the stories that this work has accumulated. After the performance, the audience applauded instead of cheering, which was a scene typical of a live performance at this time of the year.
The quiz corner "The 1st POPIPA☆Kiradoki! Championship. Artists who have been associated with Poppin'Party appeared on stage and gave various quizzes. fripSide, RAISE A SUILEN, and OISIMASAYOSHI appeared on DAY 1, and DAIGO, Aina Aiba, and SILENT SIREN appeared on DAY 2. SIREN made video appearances. The rewards and punishment games according to the quiz scores will be shown later in the new YouTube program "Poppiban! ~Popipa no Bangui~", which will be aired later.
The first song of the second half was "What's the POPIPA! Illuminated by lights of seven different colors, the members appeared from various parts of the venue. The performance was a complete entertainment, with the members lining up vertically in a row and spinning in a circle, a move that resembled a dance unit, and an unexpected flying performance by Aimi.
The transition from such an entertaining performance to "Time Lapse," one of Poppin'Party's coolest and most stylish songs, was interesting. The drum set and keyboards glowed red and blue with LEDs. Otsuka-san's facial expressions as he leaned toward the camera, and Nishimoto-san's performance, which was so low that one knee almost touched the ground. The bright and joyful atmosphere was brought back to the main line of the concert by the persuasive power of the performance.
Since it was an autumn concert, the Halloween parade-themed "Hello! Here, the dancers gave a lecture on dancing before performing, and the audience danced along with them. The audience felt a sense of the season when they saw Kasumi, Arisaki, and others in Halloween costumes on the screen. I felt that the excitement and glamour of Halloween was carried by Mr. Ito, who danced and played happily. In contrast, Aimi's guitar-playing smile, which was both mischievous and bewitching, was fresh and fresh.
Ohashi-san's full and happy expression as he played the drums for "Teardrops" was impressive. Even though Ms. Otsuka and Mr. Nishimoto were separated on both sides of the stage, the way they played facing each other showed that their consciousness and feelings were connected. Mr. Otsuka played violently and rampantly, bringing up the voltage. It was a stage where the five people on stage and the audience who offered their light and claps communicated their feelings.
During the MC, Aimi said, "I realize that I am here thanks to everyone's support. I have many dreams that I want to fulfill, and I have been able to make various dreams come true. I can only be thankful," she said, expressing her feelings and expressing her will to continue running while keeping her dreams in mind.
The last song of DAY 1 was "STAR BEAT! ~Hoshinokodou~", followed by "Yes! and the origin of Poppin'Party. The latest and greatest performances by the five members renewed the memories that came to mind along with the nostalgic images. The setlist was similar to that of DAY 2, which ended with "Milite Rain" and a clip from "BanG Dream! 3rd Season.
The encore started with "Light Delight," which was played by Mr. Ito on the keyboard. The song contained a strong message and thought that one is not alone in this world. This song has a special meaning because it was finally sung at the concert after a long time.
During the encore MC, the members talked about their dreams, such as wanting to do improvised song live, acoustic tours, and spinning drum sets. In the encore video, the members also talked about their dreams, such as to have a live with Roselia and to compose lyrics with everyone in Poppin'Party. The common theme of the talk was "the future" and the common attitude of Poppin'Party was to talk about the future. The venue was the same venue where Ms. Otsuka had once auditioned for the "Bandolier! audition, she said that she would like to hold a live concert there someday.
The last number of Day 1 was "My Light Rain". The live video of "BanG Dream! 3rd Season" was shown behind the five performers. Ito-san and Arisaki's hands on the keyboard and Aimi-san and Kasumi's gentle and strong hands were in perfect synchronization with each other. The performance showed that they were truly enjoying the stage for the first time in a long time as they moved freely around the stage. The curtain came down on their first solo live performance in a long time with a train bound for the future, filled with hope and the will to move forward together beyond their dreams.
