─ How did you feel when you heard about the decision to produce "Witch Apprentice wo Sagasete"?

Chiba: I thought, "It's suddenly going to be a movie! I thought. A movie is something special, so I was very surprised. When I heard about it, they didn't tell me what kind of movie it would be at all, but only that an "Ojamajo Doremi" movie would be made. I had a vague idea that they would not be the main characters, but producer Hiromi Seki told me, "Don't worry, they will be in the movie! (They will be in it! (laughs). (Laughs). He kept saying this to me like a curse every time, so I thought, "This is a bad idea!

(Everyone laughed).

Chiba: From that point on, you gradually became more and more prepared.

Akitani I was also very surprised. But I was very happy to be able to work with everyone again.

Matsuoka I think I first heard about it from Chiba.

Chiba It was just a rumor (laughs).

Matsuoka So for a while I wondered if it was true and thought I was being lied to (laughs).

Chiemi Chiba

Everyone laughed.

Matsuoka: I don't believe in good things until I get a real offer. If I look forward to it too much, I get depressed when it doesn't come true. ...... So I was very surprised and really happy when I heard about it.

But when I got the script and read it over, I thought, "What? There's no Aiko! (laughs).

───What did you think when you saw the movie with these new heroines?

Akiya It was very nice. I was worried before seeing the movie because not many of the characters appeared in it, but when I saw it, I felt more like "Doremi" in it. When I finished watching it, my heart was filled with the love of the ...... production team for the characters.

Matsuoka: I was convinced that this was what Mr. Seki really wanted to depict! I was convinced that this was what Mr. Seki really wanted to depict!

While traveling around the country for the 20th anniversary events, I met many fans, some of whom welcomed me with big smiles and some of whom were crying. I feel like I am in sync with that experience. I felt again that "Doremi" is a work for everyone, and I could see the faces of the fans through the three main characters in the film.

Although I don't appear in the film very much, I can proudly say that I was in the film, and I sincerely encourage people from all walks of life to come see it.

Chiba: With that world view, pictures, and music, the world of the work was spread out before my eyes, made even more beautiful by today's technology. The members of "Ojamajo Doremi" did not appear in the film that much, but they were so firmly embedded in the world of the film that I felt as if they were "there. Actually, I think that is very difficult to express. I felt that the staff members from that time were indispensable in creating the images and the worldview of that time, and that is why we brought them back together as much as possible.

Tomoko Akiya

─ How did you feel when you saw the three new heroines (Sora, Mire and Reika)?

Chiba: The recording sessions were done separately, and I honestly could not imagine what the play would be like. It felt like an unknown world until I saw the preview. When I actually saw the preview, I could tell from the first few lines that the actors loved the work and were acting it out, which made me feel very relieved.

Matsuoka: The Ojamajo and the other three were all there. I felt that they were a blend of Aiko and Dorimi, and I really felt the Ojamajo among the three characters. It was not only in the pictures, but also in the play, and I felt that the actors were very careful in their performances, which made it very pleasant to watch.

Akiya I could tell from your performance that you really like "Ojamajo Doremi". I could tell that she really liked "Ojamajo Doremi" from her acting! I thought it was wonderful that her voice matched the image of the character.

─ Is there anything that you think fans of the show can enjoy, or that you would like the audience to pay attention to if they watch it a second time?

Matsuoka: The cast members who appeared in "Doremi" appear as different people in some details! We, the Ojamajo, also appear as different characters. We, the Ojamajo, are also playing different roles. When I tried to play a completely different atmosphere from Aiko, the director directed me to "make it sound exactly like Aiko," so you can easily recognize our voices (laughs). (Laughs.) You may not be able to recognize the other actors' performances the first time. I hope that you will enjoy the complete production as if you were on a treasure hunt!

Chiba: There are some people whose voices appear in the film quite casually, so that is a highlight of the film.

Yuki Matsuoka

─ ─ What is the charm of "Ojamajo Doremi" that you felt again after watching the movie?

Chiba: As was the case with the TV anime, magic never solves problems. The power of magic gives us a chance and pushes us forward, but in the end, we can overcome the problems by our own strength.

This is an important part of the "Ojamajo Doremi" world.

Akiya All the lines of "Ojamajo Doremi" are filled with love, so they honestly resonate with the audience. I think that those who watch the movie can feel the tenderness of the characters as they are. I was able to reconfirm that this is a work full of love.

Matsuoka: When I first saw the script of the movie, I felt a little sad because I knew that it was not Aiko who said the magic spell. But when I saw the movie, I was very happy to realize that people actually used to say the spells like that back then, and because it was Reika's line, it resonated with me.

Chiba It was because they didn't just imitate the way Ai said it and cast the spell, but used their own words, that I was able to feel the quality of the film.

Matsuoka That's right! I think it will be synchronized with everyone who watches the film.

─ ─ Finally, do you have a message for those who will see the film?

Chiba: As a 20th anniversary commemorative film, the atmosphere and worldview of that time are preserved, and we hope that everyone who watches the film will be able to enter the story as the main characters. I think that both people who watched "Ojamajo Doremi" and people who did not watch "Ojamajo Doremi" will be able to enter and enjoy this world, and I hope that it will be an opportunity for everyone to take a step forward.
