Aim for the Top," which has been showing since Friday, November 27, 2020. OVA Part 1 / OVA Part 2, which is currently being screened from November 27, 2020 (Friday), has been found to be off to a blockbuster start.
Aim for the Top! is a groundbreaking animation that combines the completely different elements of a beautiful girl, a giant robot, and a sports fanatic all in one work, and was produced and released as an OVA (original video animation sold as video software) of six episodes from 1988 to 1989. The animation was produced by GAINAX, an up-and-coming company at the time. It was the first commercial work directed by Anno Hideaki, who later became known for his "Evangelion" series.

The film was a particularly big hit at TOHO Cinemas Ikebukuro, the only theater in Tokyo to screen the film, with a total of 10 screenings of both the first and second parts sold out the day before the screening date from 11/27 (Fri.) to 11/29 (Sun.). In addition, many theaters in Osaka and Nagoya were also full.
The total number of viewers for the first two films from 11/27 (Fri.) to 11/29 (Sun.) was 4,513, and the box-office revenue was 5,089,300 yen. The film was also highly satisfactory, with sobbing heard during each scene and spontaneous applause after the screening (TOHO Cinemas Ikebukuro).

<Synopsis>.
