Maaya Sakamoto (Da Vinci) and Ayako Kawasumi (Shishioh) talk about the highlights of "Fate/Grand Order the Movie - Camelot, the Holy Round Table Region" here!

Fate/Grand Order the Movie - Camelot in the Realm of the Sacred Round Table - Part 1 Wandering; Agateram" will be released nationwide on December 5, 2020 (Saturday). The story features the itinerant knight Bedivere, and is said to be a profound drama. We asked Maaya Sakamoto, who plays Leonardo da Vinci and also wrote the theme song "Monologue," and Ayako Kawasumi, who plays the lion king who has a deep connection with Bedivere, about the highlights of the movie!

The Sixth Singularity "Camelot, the Sacred Round Table Region" is a profound story suitable for the theater version!

───First of all, please tell us how you feel about the release of the film.

Sakamoto: It was unfortunate that the release of the film was delayed once, but I am glad that we are now able to present it to you.

Kawasumi We all recorded it together last winter (2019). We additionally recorded a few times this year, but it was all recorded individually.

Sakamoto: There was a time when we couldn't record together because of the state of emergency declared in Corona.

Kawasumi: At that time, I was happy just to pass by my co-stars in the studio for a moment! It was like that. Compared to that, last year, we were able to eat lunch together in between recording sessions and talk about many things while recording. It has been almost a year since then, and the decision to produce "Fate/Grand Order the Movie" was announced in the summer of 2018, so I think fans have been waiting for it for a long time. That's why I'm really happy to be able to release the film.

─ Was there anything memorable about the postrecording session with the entire cast?

SAKAMOTO: We are all familiar faces who have been involved with the "Fate" series for a long time, but surprisingly, we have not had many occasions to record all together, so it was very refreshing. This was the first time I saw Mr. Miyano play Bedivere in person, and there were also a number of other people I got to work with for the first time in the recording, so I thought, "This is the real deal" (laughs). Whenever I had a question about the "Fate/Grand Order" worldview, I would ask either Kawasumi or Nobunaga (Shimazaki), and I thought it was amazing that the two of you could answer everything.

Kawasumi: No, whenever I didn't understand something, I would ask Nobunaga (laughs).

──What is your impression of the story of the movie version?

Kawasumi: The TV series "Fate/Grand Order: Babylonia" is the seventh chapter (the seventh singularity) of the original story, and "Fate/Grand Order the Movie: Camelot, the Holy Round Table" is the sixth chapter (the sixth singularity) before that. I feel that the episodes are appropriate for the TV series and the movie version, respectively. I think it is a luxury to be able to see the images of "Camelot, the Sacred Round Table Region" on a big screen in a movie theater.

─ ─ I see, considering the nature of each chapter, it was better to have one in the form of a TV animation and the other in the form of a theater version.

Kawasumi That's right. The development of "Absolute Monster Front Babylonia" is spectacular, and each episode is a must-see episode. I would like you to watch "Camelot in the Realm of the Sacred Round Table" in a movie theater and immerse yourself in the world of this episode because it has a profound sense of depth.

Sakamoto: For those who have played the game, I am sure it will be fun to experience that story in a new form in the form of an animated film version. Since Bedivere is the main character, his face is prominently featured on the poster, and I think the world of "Fate/Grand Order" as seen through his eyes will be quite refreshing for those who have been following the game for a long time.
Also, I have had the privilege of singing the theme song for "Fate/Grand Order" for a long time. I have always written the lyrics in accordance with Mr. Kinoko Nasu's requests, with themes such as "It's tough but we'll do our best" and "We'll overcome this difficulty," but this time the first part ends with "It's tough but ......" (laughs). (Laughs.) I think that the deep lingering feeling of what will happen next will linger in the audience until the release of the second part.

Kawasumi: For Saber, whom I have been playing since "Fate/stay night," "Camelot in the Realm of the Sacred Round Table" is a very special story. From the title, it is clearly a story about King Arthur, and it is positioned as an "if" story after the ending of "Fate/stay night". It is a very painful development, but I am filled with gratitude to Nasu-sensei for giving the "if" of Saber, whom I have played, a new form in this way. I am also happy that users answered the questionnaire because they wanted to see it as an anime. It is very special for me to be able to see it on the screen as a theater version with wonderful images and sound.

─ ─ The Lion King played by Kawasumi-san is in a very difficult position, isn't he?

Kawasumi: Yes, I think the impression that he is a terrible person will become stronger (laughs). I am worried that people's steps will be heavy when they leave the theater, but I think that is why people will be anxious to see the second part of the film.
