This TV anime is based on the manga "Kingdom" by Yasuhisa Hara, which is currently being serialized in the very popular "Weekly Young Jump" magazine (Shueisha). The original comics have already sold over 68 million copies and the first live-action movie was shown in April 2019.
The story is set in China during the Spring and Autumn and Warring States Period and follows the exploits of a boy named Nobu (CV: Seiichi Morita), who aspires to become the greatest general in the world, and a young king named Eisei (CV: Jun Fukuyama) , who later becomes the first emperor of Japan. The first TV anime series was broadcast on NHK BS Premium from June 2012 to February 2013 and the The second series was broadcast from June 2013 to March 2014.

<Synopsis
