The special program "Godzilla and Heroines" will be broadcast on NHK BS Premium on December 19 at 7:30 pm.

Starting with "Godzilla" in 1954, special effects monster movies have been made one after another. These films have fascinated not only the Japanese but also people all over the world, including Hollywood, where they have been made into series.
Beautiful heroines have added flowers to the screen of such tokusatsu monster movies. The charm of monster monsters such as Godzilla, Radon, Mothra, King Ghidorah, Mechagodzilla, the Gas Man, and Matango shines even more brightly because of their presence.

A unique special program called "Digging into Special Effects Films from the Perspective of Heroines! a unique special program will be broadcast.

The program will trace the heroines who have colored the history of Japanese tokusatsu movies from the Showa to the Heisei eras, introducing as many as 27 Toho tokusatsu movies.
Momoko Kawachi, Yumi Shirakawa, Kaoru Yachigusa, Kyoko Kagawa, Yuriko Hoshi, Kyoko Ai, Keiko Mari, The Peanuts, Emi Odaka, Yasuko Sawaguchi, and Misato Tanaka. ...... The movies that keep appearing feature a colorful array of heroines, including screaming heroines, heroines in love, working heroines, villainous heroines, heroines who sing, heroines who communicate with monsters, and heroines who fight.

While enjoying these images, the audience discusses the appeal of heroines in the studio.

The facilitators are Muga Tsukaji, aka Dr. Tsukaji, and popular voice actress Megumi Ban, aka AI robot Pan droid Meg. In addition, Shiro Sano will appear as a special effects heroine researcher. Special guests will be actress Kumi Mizuno, "the tokusatsu heroine" who has appeared in many tokusatsu movies such as "The Great Monster War" and "Matango," Yumiko Shaku, who piloted Mechagodzilla, and producer Shogo Tomiyama, who worked on the Heisei Godzilla series.

There will also be special interviews with Keiko Mari, who appeared in "Godzilla vs. Hedorah," and Emi Odaka, who has appeared in six Godzilla movies.
In addition, we will delve into the behind-the-scenes of the filming of special effects movies and the surprising relationship with that person that we can talk about only now, while the studio was attacked by Godzilla and other such happenings.

The program will be a deep and maniacal 90 minutes filled with love for special effects films, thoroughly analyzing the appeal of monsters and heroines of the silver screen, including rare 8mm making-of film footage of the behind-the-scenes filming, which is being shown for the first time in Japan.
