It has been announced that Megumi Hayashibara will once again sing the OP and ED themes for "SHAMAN KING," which is scheduled to air on TV Tokyo in April 2021. In addition, a key visual, the first PV, and information on additional characters and cast members were also announced.

SHAMAN KING," a popular comic book series by Hiroyuki Takei that has sold more than 35 million copies, tells the story of a boy who can see spirits, Ip Asakura, who participates in shaman fights to determine the top shaman and fights alongside his friends to become the Shaman King. A new chapter, "SHAMAN KING THE SUPER STAR," is currently being serialized in "Shonen Magazine Edge" (Kodansha) and will be adapted into a completely new TV anime in April 2021. The anime adaptation will be based on the 35-volume "SHAMAN KING," which has been on sale since June 17, 2020, and the series will be drawn to its conclusion.

The key visual depicts the clash between Ip and Ren, and the encounter between Ip and Manta, who came to Tokyo to become the "Shaman King". The first PV of "SHAMAN KING" depicting the battle against rivals such as Ryunosuke and Ren was also released at the same time. The contents of this PV will make viewers eagerly await the broadcast in April 2021.

A boy in the first grade of Morira Private Academy Junior High School. He is Ip's first human friend. After meeting Ip, he is able to see ghosts, but he does not have the ability to be a shaman. ■Michi Ren: CV Park Yu-mi

The sergeant of the Tao family, a family of shamans who have been active in the shadows of Chinese history for 2,000 years, he himself has extremely high shamanistic abilities and fighting skills. He is short-tempered and proud, but in the shadows he puts in a lot of effort to match. The large pointy hair on the top of his head is his trademark.

The world of unique shamans with their own shamanism and religious views from all over the world, who gather together and battle by possessing spirits...I can't stand that worldview! The many famous lines of each character, born from the borderline between here and there, between the other side and oneself, and from the real battle on the very edge, grab the heart and soul of the audience. How many babies does Mr. Takei give birth to? It is a work full of charm!

─ ─ Could you tell us about your enthusiasm for playing the character of Ren Michi?
I was like, "A new animated series? You're not going to play Ren?
I can't tell you how many times I've been asked this question, and how many times I've kept it to myself. But now I can finally say it with open arms! I'm Park Yu-mi! I am going to challenge a new Shaman King with 100% possession combined with Tongari Bodacha Michi Ren! You can look forward to it! Hahahaha! I am lost.

■Ma Sun: CV Kousuke Takaguchi

A general who has served the Taoist family since his birth and has led a cavalry unit in battle. He excels at melee combat using the Magon sword. At first glance, he appears to be a quiet man, but he is a man of intense emotions and loves his master, Ren, with all his heart. His beloved horse, which he once fought with, is named Kokuto.

I think there are many things, but I think it is the characters that make me curious and addictive.
All the characters are vividly portrayed, and they are wonderful.
And they all clash with each other, sometimes breaking free as they go along. I found myself captivated by the passion and lulz.

───Can you tell us about your enthusiasm for playing the character of Magon?
I am very excited.
When I found out that I was going to play the role of Magon, I twisted my head and wondered what I should do. But I gave up, as I usually don't think about anything, there was no way I could come up with a good idea.
I decided to follow the backs of the many seniors and be myself and give it my all as usual.
Since I decided to do so, I am very excited.

Ryunosuke Umemiya: CV Masahiko Tanaka

He is a delinquent with a wooden sword in his hand and his trademark regent. He is a well-known bad boy who goes by the nickname "The Dragon with the Wooden Sword," and he and his disciples are always looking for the best place to live. Although he has a rough attitude, he is very affectionate and trustworthy towards those he once recognized as his friends.

Skelton: CV Wataru Takagi

He is the head of a band of thieves who fought Amidamaru and was beaten back. He remains in this world out of a desire for revenge against Amidamaru, and is looking for an opportunity to get even. He is characterized by his green skin, thin frame, and long, unkempt hair.

I went to a recording session the other day, and while thinking nostalgically about how I used to do postrecording 20 years ago, I became possessed by Ryunosuke, played by Masahiko Tanaka, and spoke the same lines with one heart and soul. The charm of the work is one thing, but the joy of being able to play with Masahiko again after 20 years and the feeling that we are one in heart and soul is one of the most enjoyable aspects of playing the role.

───Can you tell us about your enthusiasm for playing the character of Skagero?
After 20 years, I am very happy to be able to appear in front of everyone again as Skalekaro. I am not just rehashing the role, but I want to take great care in my performance so that I can show you a new Skalekaro who has grown up a little bit more. Please look forward to it!
