Tokyo Skytree is dyed with EVA! Undercover report on the "EVANGELION TOKYO SKYTREE Project," in which Misato Ugaki also came to support the event! Part 1

In conjunction with the release of "Shin Evangelion the Movie" on January 23, 2021 (Saturday), Tokyo Skytree will hold the "EVANGELION TOKYO SKYTREE Project," a collaboration event with Evangelion, from December 23, 2020 (Wednesday) to March 31, 2021 (Wednesday). The event will be held from December 23, 2020 (Wednesday) to March 31, 2021 (Wednesday).

In this event, a giant Evangelion first plane will appear in the TEMBO Kairo, 450 meters above the ground. In addition, there will be a wide variety of contents to enjoy the world of "Evangelion" such as exhibits of characters and Evangelion from the "Evangelion" series, photo spots, original goods, and a collaboration cafe menu.
In addition, original video futures will be screened and special Evangelion-inspired lighting will be turned on, making this a must-see for Evangelion fans.

The Akiba Research Institute editorial staff went inside the "EVANGELION TOKYO SKYTREE PROJECT," which opened on December 23! The full story will be revealed in the following articles.

At a talk show held prior to the opening, anime-loving freelance announcer Ugaki Misato also took the stage. Ms. Ugaki first became hooked on "Evangelion" when she entered university. She started watching the anime after a senior student told her that there was a character named "Misato" in the series, and she was hooked on the series in no time. Ugaki-san appeared on stage dressed in an outfit inspired by his favorite character, Kaworu Nagisa. She and the MC reconfirmed the appeal of the "EVANGELION TOKYO SKYTREE PROJECT".

The audience was also excited when "Sorakara-chan," the official character of Tokyo Skytree, appeared in a limited version of the character, which was inspired by Ayanami Rei's plug suit!
During the event, Sorakara-chan will greet visitors in her Ayanami version.

During the event, visitors will be greeted by the Ayanami version of Sorakara-chan. "I think this project will allow visitors to fully enjoy the world of Evangelion along with the night scenery of Tokyo," said Sorakara. It's a great way to immerse yourself in the world again and prepare for the new movie version," she said.

Let me introduce the exhibits from here.

Let's start with Floor 350 on the TEMBO DECK.
Decorations of the apostle attack warning issued by NERV, a special agency, decorate the windows of the Sky Tree!

From there, visitors will move to Floor 445, the exhibition hall, where they will board an elevator equipped with entry plugs.

There are two versions: the Type-1 version and the Type-0 version. The interior is also designed to resemble the display inside the entry plug. The screen also shows a preview of the "Shin Evangelion Theater Version" movie, which is sure to raise the spirits of the guests.

Moving to Floor 445, visitors were suddenly greeted by a giant Hatsugo-Jiki! If you look closely, you will see it breaking through the floor of the TEMBO Kairo. How impressive!

Moving on to the corridor, we found the "Eva Archive," where the characters of "Eva" and Evangelion are introduced along the walls, and collages of famous lines are displayed. From the very beginning, Kaworu's "Love has nothing to do with gender" jumped out at me. Once again, "Eva" is an anime full of power words.

At the end of the corridor, there is a photo spot where visitors can take a commemorative photo with a full-size "Kuroha," or Ayanami Rei (tentative name) with the cored earth in the background.

Visitors can enjoy a panoramic view of the story of "Rebuild of Evangelion. Let's look back on "Evangelion: Prelude," "Evangelion: Breakthrough," and "Evangelion: Q" and prepare for "Shin Evangelion: The Movie.

There is also a photo spot at the highest point of 451.2 meters. Take a commemorative photo with a progressive knife pierced through the core of an apostle in the background!

A diorama reproducing famous scenes from "Rebuild of Evangelion" is also on display.

Fans will definitely want to check out the many exhibits that allow them to enjoy the world of "Evangelion" along with the cityscape of Tokyo!

There is also a collaboration photo service where you can take commemorative photos with Shinji, Rei, Asuka, Kaworu, and Mari!
I took a photo with Ayanami, too, just for the heck of it! (Model: Editor A)

In addition, "The Thesis of the Cruel Angel" Skytree Round Theater Ver. is shown on Floor 350 every evening and later. This is a video content showing "Thesis of a Cruel Angel" with an original music video edited by MASANASUKI, the assistant director of the TV series, and a live performance by TAKAHASHI Yoko.
Please check the official website for the schedule.

During the event period, there will be a total of five special lighting displays based on the images of Evangelion Unit 1, Evangelion Unit Zero, Evangelion Unit 2, Evangelion Mark.06, and Evangelion Unit 8.
Please check the official website for the schedule of this event.

In the second part, we will introduce the collaboration food and goods.
Please enjoy it as well!
