As a project to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the "Magical Science" series, it has been decided that "The Honors Students of Magical High School" will be adapted into a TV anime in 2021, and a teaser visual and special commercial have been released.

The legendary school magics "The Lesser Students of Magical High School," written by Tsutomu Sashima and illustrated by Kana Ishida, has sold a total of over 20 million copies (the original novel series sold a total of 12 million copies). In June 2017, an anime film based on a story written by the original author, Mr. Sashima, titled "Magical High School Lesser Students Calling the Stars: The Movie" was released. The second TV anime "The Lesser Student of Magical High School: The Girl Who Calls the Stars" began airing on October 3, 2020.

It was announced after the last episode of the TV anime "The Lesser Student of Magical High School: The Visitor Arc" was broadcast that "The Honor Student of Magical High School", a spin-off comic by Yu Mori featuring Tatsuya Shibanami's younger sister, Miyuki Shibanami, will be adapted into a TV anime in 2021. I'm sure many fans were surprised to hear that "Honors Student at a Magical High School" (hereinafter referred to as "Honors Student") will be adapted into an anime. I was surprised at first, too.
The "Honors Student" is not a comic adaptation of the original novel, but a reconstruction of the original episodes from a different point of view. It was the first comic adaptation of "The Lesser Students of Magical High School" (hereinafter referred to as "The Lesser Students"), and it was completed in step with the original work.
In many ways, it was developed in tandem with the original novel. "Honors Student," which is also very memorable for me, depicts student life from just before entering Daiichi High School, mainly from the viewpoint of Miyuki. It is the girls' side of "The Lesser Students of Magical High School" so to speak. Of course, it is not that the male characters such as Tatsuya do not play an active role in the story, but the emphasis is on depicting the girls' emotions. The atmosphere is softer and lighter than that of "The Lesser Students. Although "Honors Student" is a manga, it is more like a light novel than "Lesser Students," and perhaps more suited to anime than "Lesser Students. Please look forward to it, whether you are a fan of magical science or an anime fan.
