Commemorating the 1000th episode of "ONE PIECE" serialization! ONE PIECE 1000 LOGS" campaign project started today, January 4 (Monday)!

The popular manga "ONE PIECE" celebrated its 1,000th episode in the 5th and 6th issues of Weekly Shonen Jump, on sale today, January 4, 2021 (Monday), and various projects titled the "ONE PIECE 1000 LOGS" campaign have begun.

The "ONE PIECE 1000 LOGS" campaign includes the "1st ONE PIECE Character World Popularity Poll," in which readers around the world can cast their votes, and an appearance in "The New York Times" newspaper.
The following is an introduction to the seven projects of the campaign. Details of each project will be announced on the "ONE PIECE 1000 LOGS" campaign special site (scheduled to open at midnight on January 4, 2021). Eiichiro Oda's comments on the 1000th episode will also be introduced, so please be sure to check it out.

ONE PIECE 1000 LOGS" Campaign Project


(1) "The 1st ONE PIECE Character World Popularity Poll

ONE PIECE" has finally surpassed 1000 episodes since its serialization started in July 1997. In order to express our gratitude to readers around the world and to further convey the appeal of the series, a worldwide popularity vote for the characters will be held (*1).

The "1st ONE PIECE Character Global Popularity Poll" is a project to determine the "best" character among more than 1,000 characters and to experience the differences in values and diversity by comparing the top 100 results from around the world. You can participate in the voting once a day from the special site, and will be informed of the results and further developments.

The special site, which will serve as the voting site, will start a challenge to unite the world with "ONE PIECE" as a hook through various projects and contents under the catchphrase "WE ARE ONE.
1 The site can be accessed from servers around the world. Only three languages will be supported: Japanese, English, and Chinese.


In the popularity contest, users can vote once a day from Monday, January 4, 2021 to Sunday, February 28, 2021. To select from a total of more than 1,000 characters, users can search by character name and series name. Voters will get one AR character per vote at random as a gift and can take a photo with them through the camera application. The site also introduces the "WT100 Commemorative PV," a battle movie that will also air as a TV commercial, and the "ONE PIECE 1000 LOGS Teaser Movie," which looks back at "ONE PIECE" in live action. In addition, further announcements and plans will be posted in the future, including information on campaigns related to the 1000th episode of the series, the interim and final results of the popularity vote, and statistics from around the world.

(2) The New York Times Newspaper Ad

The New York Times", a newspaper, will run a newspaper advertisement with a thousand story illustrations and a story about the history of the adventure.
The New York Times" newspaper, as a global outreach campaign, will run a full-page advertisement calling for a popularity vote and featuring door illustrations of 1,000 episodes that evoke the history of the series' adventures.

(5) Weekly Shonen JUMP 3rd/4th/5th/6th combined issue: Gorgeous cover and oversized poster

In the 3rd/4th and 5th/6th issues of Weekly Shonen Jump, each artist will draw two shots of their favorite ONE PIECE character, mainly Luffy, and the main character of their own work. My Favorite ONE PIECE Characters' Big Group Cover", which will be linked to the next issue.

Collaboration with Shueisha's shoujo manga magazines "Ribon" and "Bessatsu Margaret," the fashion magazine "MORE," and the comprehensive sports web media "Sportiva" is also in progress. Detailed collaboration details will be announced in the magazines, on SNS, and on the "ONE PIECE 1000 LOGS" campaign special website.

(7) Volumes 1-71 are available for free on the manga magazine application "Shonen Jump +" and the general e-bookstore "Zeblack!
The manga magazine app "Shonen Jump+" and the electronic bookstore "Zeblack" operated by Shueisha are offering free reading of volumes 1 to 71 from December 28, 2020 (Monday) to January 11, 2021 (Monday). This will be the largest free release in "ONE PIECE" history.
