Winter Anime Japanese dubbed version of "The Magician" to be released on Blu-ray Disc on April 21!

The Japanese dubbed anime version of the hit fantasy "The Magician," which has attracted attention for its detailed and epic story and fascinating characters, and which has received over 11 billion views worldwide, will finally be broadcast and distributed starting today, January 10, 2021. Prior to the broadcast, a Blu-ray of the film will be released.

Based on the BL novel "The Magician Ancestor" by Sumika Coppersmith, which was serialized on the web in China from 2015 to 2016. After its completion, the extremely popular content has been developed into an overwhelming media mix, including radio dramas, anime, manga, and live-action dramas.
The work, which features a lineup of China's top-class popular voice actors in a highly topical original story, has been distributed on China's Tencent Video (騰訊視頻) since 2018, exceeding 40 million PV in just three days after its release and ranking first in the site's anime access ranking.
The film was well received for its ink painting-inspired background art, magnificent fight scenes, and music using classical instruments, and won the Grand Prize for Best Animated Series at the Golden Dragon Awards, the largest competition in the Chinese manga and animation industry, for two consecutive years. The animation, which incorporates traditional Chinese elements, also attracted overseas fans.

The detailed and epic story and fascinating characters have created a buzz, and the series has not only exploded in popularity throughout Asia, but also has a deep-rooted fan base in Japan. Prior to the broadcast, a Blu-ray release of this work has been announced, in two volumes: "Maejin-hen" containing 15 episodes and "Enyun-hen" containing 8 episodes, to be released in April and June, respectively.

In addition to the full-length disc, the product will also include a CD containing the Japanese cover of the Chinese version of the theme song, a booklet, and other extras. In addition, a collection of 10 carefully selected episodes of "Mage Master Q" (subtitled version), in which mini-characters play an active role, will be available as a special purchase bonus for each store.
