From 1977 to 1980, a radio drama of "Space Battleship Yamato" was broadcast on All Night Nippon, and it was a big hit.

In 2012, the "Space Battleship Yamato 2199" series, a remake of the first TV series, began showing in theaters and broadcasting on TV, gaining a large following, including new fans.
