Starring Natsuki Hanae! Original anime "Odd Taxi" will air in April 2021!

The original anime "Odd Taxi"will be broadcast onTV Tokyo andAT-XfromApril2021.
The script will be written by Watsuya Konomoto, who has made a splash with his comic "Setutsumi" (which has also been made into a live-action movie and drama) and "Black School Rules," a movie & drama & released on Hulu, and will be working on his first original TV anime work.

The teaser visual released to the public is a striking composition of characters drawn with animals standing in a backlit line against a neon background. As the name "Odd Taxi" suggests, a cab is parked in the foreground.

The voice cast has also been announced, with Natsuki Hanae playing the role of the main character, Odogawa. Odogawa is a 41-year-old cab driver. In the PV released this time, you can hear Hanae's performance as an "old man," which is a "new frontier" from the characters he has played in the past.

The main characters are played by such talented cast members as Ryohei Kimura, Riho Iida, and Kappei Yamaguchi.

In addition, many comedians from Yoshimoto Kogyo, including Miki, Diane, Takashi (Trendy Angel), Tomoko Murakami (Morisanchu), and Garry Records, will participate as voice actors, which is an unusual casting that is sure to catch your attention. One of the first things to look out for is what kind of world the comedians, who make their living as talkers, will weave together with the talented cast.

This is an original anime without an original story, but according to the synopsis, it seems to be a mystery in which the main character, a cab driver named Odogawa, interacts with peculiar customers, which leads to the disappearance of a girl. Watsuya Konomoto, who wrote the screenplay for the film, is known for the surrealistic dialogue between the characters in "Setou Tsumi.

The cab driver I play, Kotogawa, is a character I have never played before, but the director nominated me to play him.
Why is that...? It doesn't seem to be just an anime with cute animals.

I made this film with an affinity for the clumsy Odogawa that makes me feel as if he were a stranger. I think it is fun to watch the film with cynical gags, while trying to guess what their "intentions" are, where they are headed, and how they will intersect with each other.

I was able to communicate with the visual group from the initial stages (a.k.a. being selfish, lol), which was very meaningful and allowed me to work at my usual pace.

Where to, customer?
The town should be familiar to you, but something feels a little different here.

KOTOGAWA, a cab driver, leads an ordinary life. He has no relatives, doesn't get involved with other people, and is a bit eccentric and uncommunicative. His hobbies are rakugo, which he listens to before going to bed, and the radio, which he listens to while working. The only friends he has are his family doctor, Tsuyoshi, and a classmate from high school, Kakihana.
All he carries are customers who are somewhat peculiar. Kabasawa, a university student who wants to get the word out, Shirakawa, a nurse who is hiding something, homo sapiens, a duo of comedians who are not selling well, Dob, a street thug, and Mystery Kiss, a successful idol... The conversations of these people, who should be nothing, eventually lead to a girl who has gone missing.
