Mobile Police Patlabor" began as an OVA (initial OVA) series in 1988. Since then, the series has expanded into a comic series (Weekly Shōnen Sunday), TV series, theater productions, and OVA (new OVA), and continues to be a hit series that continues to excite fans with its innovative promotions.
The "Mobile Police Patlabor 2 the Movie," which will be released in 4DX this time, is the second theatrical film in the series, which was released in 1993 after the broadcast of the TV series and the release of the new OVA.

The film is directed by Mamoru Oshii, who showed his ability without regret in "Mobile Police Patlabor the Movie. The screenplay is by Kazunori Ito, character design by Akemi Takada and Masami Yuki, and mechanical design by Yutaka Izubuchi, all of whom are based on the original "Patlabor" manga "Head Gear. The animation director is Kazuya Kise, art director Hiromasa Ogura, and other staff members who successfully created the near-future world of the previous film continue to participate in the project.
In addition, Shoji Kawamori and Hajime Katoki participated as mechanical designers. Kenji Kawai continues to be in charge of music, rounding out the strong staff.

The sound supporting the 4DX is a "sound renewal version" created in 1998 for stereoscopic sound. Although the re-recording only corrects some parts such as the air traffic controllers, the music has been re-recorded with synthesizers replaced by orchestras and live chorus.
The "Sound Renewal Version" has only been shown a few times so far, including at events, and this is the first time it has been shown in movie theaters nationwide. We hope that you will experience the unique effects of the large screen, stereoscopic sound, and 4DX in theaters.

In addition to the PKO scene at the beginning of the film, the bombing of Tokyo by a combat helicopter, and the intense battle scene in the underground tunnels at the climax, the sensation of riding in a reaver simulator, ship, or car can be expected only with 4DX.
The most noteworthy feature of the film is the snow. In the scene where the heroine Shinobu Nagumo goes to see Yukito Tsuge, snow starts to fall dramatically, and it will be interesting to see how it will be presented in 4DX.
