45th Anniversary of Broadcast "Blocker Gundan IV: Machine Blaster" Crowdfunding for digitization is now available! Applications will be accepted from January 19 (Tue.) on READYFOR!

Nippon Animation has decided to crowdfund "Blocker Gundan IV: Machine Blaster," an animation production and license management project. This project will promote the digitalization of the film by scanning the 16mm negative film used at the time of its broadcast in 1976, in order to preserve this work for future generations.

Blocker Gundan IV: Machine Blaster" was the first robot animation produced by Nippon Animation, broadcast from 1976 to 1977 on the Fuji Television network, and celebrated its 45th anniversary in 2021.
The alien Mogul has been hiding at the bottom of the earth's ocean for 200 million years. An empire led by its empress, Hell Queen V, aims to conquer the earth. In response, Dr. Yuri formed the Machine Blaster, a super-powered robot army to serve as a "shield of world peace" based on research left behind by his late friend Dr. Hojo and the benevolent ancient Moghul Nostrah...the story goes.

This project began accepting applications on the crowdfunding service "READYFOR" on January 19 (Tuesday). The return items include Machine Blaster goods released in the past, limited-edition goods newly produced for this project, and a film for previewing the first issue.

Kunio Okawara, a mechanical designer who participated in the project as a production staff member (using a pen name at the time), also sent a message of support.

I spent four enjoyable years of friendly competition with my colleagues starting in 1972.
I think I started working on "Machine Blaster" at least half a year ago, since it was aired in 1976, but I don't remember much about the work itself. However, for some reason, I do remember having a meeting with President Sato at the Kichijoji Lon Lon. It always smelled like soap. (Continued in the application page below)

Target amount: 3 million yen
Format: All-or-Nothing format*.
The project will be approved only if the target amount is reached by 23:00 on February 26. In the unlikely event that the target amount is not reached, all funds will be refunded to supporters.
