MARS RED" is based on the music reading play of the same title by Bun'o Fujisawa, a leading music reading play author. Set in the Taisho era (1912-1926), it depicts the battle between the Japanese government's anti-vampire agency, the "16th Special Mission Unit," a.k.a. Zero Agency, and vampires.
The TV anime adaptation is also attracting attention for its original character design by Karasumo ("Laughing in the Cloudy Sky," "Laughing in Purgatory," etc.) and series composition and screenplay by Junichi Fujisaki ("Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex" screenplay, "BLOOD+" director, etc.).

The story of "MARS RED" revolves around the "Zero Agency", an anti-vampire agency deployed by the Japanese government in the Taisho era.
The characters include all five "Zero Agency" members, Hidetaro Kurisu (CV: Yu Hatanaka), Yoshinobu Maeda (CV: Junichi Suwabe), Tokuichi Yamagami (CV: Koichi Yamadera), Takeuchi (CV: Akira Ishida), Swa (CV: Kenichi Suzumura), and other important characters.

In addition, the program's opening theme song, "Seimei no Aria" by the Japanese Instrumental Band, is used to further amplify the world view of this anime. The song was performed for the first time last month at Wagakki Band's "Dai-Shinnen-Kai 2021 Nippon Budokan 2 Days" and has already become a hot topic among fans even before its release, and its music distribution will start today prior to the broadcast.
