The release date of the movie "Godzilla vs. Kong" (Japanese title) starring Shun Oguri has been set for May 14 (Friday). The Japanese trailer has been released.

Warner Bros., Legendary Pictures, and Toho have partnered to develop the "Monster Verse" series, a crossover between the Hollywood version of the "Godzilla" series and "King Kong: The Giant God of Skull Island" (2017), which has been developed since "GODZILLA Godzilla" (2014). The third installment, "Godzilla King of Monsters," will be released simultaneously worldwide on May 31, 2019! The film was a blockbuster hit in Japan, where the audience was enthralled by the monster battles.

Now, the action-adventure blockbuster finally brings the most iconic monsters in movie history, the majestic Godzilla and the mighty Kong, in the long-awaited latest installment of the series. Godzilla vs. Kong" will be released in theaters on May 14 (Friday).
Godzilla, who awakened as the King after his mortal struggle with the monsters in the previous film, now faces Kong, the ultimate monster that reigns supreme in the history of cinema. This is the first time since the Japanese production of "King Kong vs. Godzilla" (1962) that a dream match has been realized.

The film also stars Shun Oguri, one of Japan's leading actors in terms of both ability and popularity. Ren Serizawa, played by Mr. Oguri, is the son of Dr. Inoshiro Serizawa, played by Ken Watanabe in the previous two Hollywood versions of the "Godzilla" series. Mr. Oguri, who has had a number of major hits in Japan with his numerous starring roles, makes his Hollywood debut with this film, which will take him to the world.
