A production announcement for the new original TV animation "Disturbance THE PRINCESS OF SNOW AND BLOOD" was held at the Meijiza Theater on February 9, 2021.

Disturbance THE PRINCESS OF SNOW AND BLOOD" ("Disturbance") is a new TV animation scheduled to be broadcast from April 2021. Set in the year of Meiji 64, when the last Tokugawa Shogun, Yoshinobu Tokugawa, is still alive and well, the storyline is heavy-handed and full-fledged action unfolds. The animation is produced by BAKKEN RECORD and directed by Susumu Kudo with series composition by Rika Nezu.

At the production announcement held at the Meiji-za Theater, BAKKEN RECORD producer Yutaka Omatsu, Bushiroad Chairman Takaaki Kitani, and cast members Suzuko Mimori playing Sakiha Yukimura, Shota Aoi playing Makoto Tsukishiro, Raychell playing Elena Hanakaze, Ayasa Ito playing Asayo Nakamura, and Chikahiro Kobayashi playing Jin Kuzuhara The moderator was NTV's Shota Ito. NTV announcer Ryo Ito served as MC. The Meijiza Theater, where the presentation was held, is scheduled to be the theater for the stage version, in which the same voice actors from the anime version will play the main cast.

BAKKEN RECORD, the animation production company, is a new label established by the long-established Tatsunoko Productions with the concept of continuing to take on new challenges while carrying on traditions. Producer Yutaka Omatsu, who was also involved in the planning and drafting of this work, said, "I am a history buff and usually fantasize about various things. I have given form to a long-held fantasy of what would have happened if the Tokugawa government had won the Boshin War. I produced this film in response to an order to do a challenging project," he said.

Bushiroad Chairman Takaaki Kitani, who is in charge of publicity, music, and production of the 2.5-dimensional stage, said, "I am looking forward to seeing the anime unfold with the quality of this PV. I am also a history fan, so the mere mention of the 64th year of the Meiji era is enough to get me excited. I think it could also work overseas. I don't want to get too involved in the production of this work, but rather enjoy it from the perspective of a fan. So the day has finally come for me to join Hulu at home," she commented with a joke.

Suzuko Mimori commented on her character, Sakiha Yukimura: "There are only difficult parts, and every night I ask myself if this is okay, and I put my soul into my performance. She is a girl who lives for revenge and resentment deep in her heart. Mimori's introduction of Sakiba included the key words "blue blood with special powers" and "to avenge her family's death.

Shota Aoi, who plays the role of Makoto Tsukishiro, spoke of his mission in playing the role of a beautiful woman dressed as a man, saying, "I often play the role of a female impersonator, so I think I can understand Tsukishiro's feelings a little bit. Ms. Aoi listened to Producer Ohmatsu's comments with a nod, emphasizing that she strongly felt the love and passion of the production staff for this work.

Ms. Raychell, who plays the role of Erena Hanakaze, said, "My first impression was that (Erena) is a very sexy and glamorous woman. I wondered how I should play a woman who also has a side of a prostitute, so I asked the cast and the director for advice as I played the role. The phrase "money is more important than humanity" in the character introduction is memorable.

Ayasa Ito, who plays Asayo Nakamura, said, "Asayo is a pure and innocent 7-year-old girl, but she is in a complicated position because her parents were executed by Yukimura and now she lives with him. Asayo is a child and is said by the staff to be an Innocent being". Mr. Mimori also said, "Asayo is more Innocent the further the story progresses.

The TV anime "Disturbance: The Princess of Snow and Blood" is scheduled to air on NTV from April 6, 2021, and on BS Nittele from April 7, 2021, with a one-week advance distribution of each episode planned on Hulu prior to the broadcast.
