Godzilla S.P <Singular Point>" is a completely new TV anime series which started as a new project of "Godzilla", one of the most popular characters in Japan. The 13-episode TV anime series will feature a completely new and original story that differs from the previous movies and other works.

The new "Godzilla" design that will appear in "Godzilla S.P." has now been unveiled. Godzilla and the other monsters in "Godzilla S.P." were designed by Eiji Yamamori, an animator who has participated in many Studio Ghibli films, including "Princess Mononoke" and "Spirited Away.

The "Godzilla" design visual released this time was drawn by Mr. Yamamori and colored by Yuji Kaneko, who was also in charge of concept art for the film and has served as art director for numerous other works, including "Little Witch Academia" and "Kill la Kill. Godzilla" and "Kill la la Kill". The design visual of "Godzilla" is powerful. What kind of animation will this "Godzilla" be like when it "lands" on Earth, thanks to the high-quality CG created by Studio Orange, which is in charge of animation production for this film together with BONES? The film will be a must-see.

Eiji Yamamori commented on the "Godzilla" design. He also commented on his participation in the "Godzilla S.P." project as a monster designer.

Eiji Yamamori's comment
-What were your feelings when you received the offer to design the monster for this film?

Yamamori: "Was I really allowed to do it? I felt like, "Can I really do it? I have a certain amount of confidence in my monster design skills, but I am an unknown designer with almost no experience. I am very grateful to have been selected. It's a great honor and I still feel like I'm dreaming."

-Yamamori: "What were your thoughts as you drew the monster design?

Yamamori: "Since it was a CG project, I made the skeleton in a way that was impossible with a stuffed animal, and I was conscious of creating a huge creature that was not biologically strange. I also went back to the basics and redesigned it from a motif, and I also incorporated homages to Toho monsters of the past."

-Yamamori: "Above all, I was interested in the design of the original Godzilla.

Yamamori: "Above all, I kept in mind the design motifs of the original Godzilla and gave it the dignity of an awe-inspiring creature that would never be able to communicate with humans. We wanted to integrate the image of the early Showa Godzilla, and yet give it a new look for the first time."

-Please give a message to those who are looking forward to the broadcast.

Yamamori: "I believe that the Godzilla that I, as a monster lover, wanted to see is the Godzilla that you also wanted to see. I hope you will enjoy the monsters that run rampant in a way that only animation can express, which is different from special effects.

Godzilla: Singular Point" will be directed by Atsushi Takahashi, director of "Doraemon the Movie: Nobita's Great Adventure in South Polar" and written and composed by Tou Enjo, one of Japan's leading science fiction novelists and an Akutagawa Prize winning author.
Kazue Kato, author of the manga "Blue Exorcist," is the original character designer, and Eiji Yamamori, an animator who has participated in many Studio Ghibli productions including "Spirited Away," is the monster designer. The music is by Kan Sawada, who has worked on the "Wimpy Pedal" series and numerous "Doraemon the Movie" films. Animation production will be handled by BONES, which produced "My Hero Academia," and Orange, which produces high-quality CG animation that sets itself apart from the rest.

With the help of such a talented staff and studio, the film depicts two young geniuses, a female researcher named Mei Jinno and a male engineer named Yoon Arikawa, who together with the people around them take on an unprecedented threat to humanity on a grand scale.
